Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez: Chavez is My First Choice For October

WBC Emeritus champion Sergio Martinez is holding Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. as his top priority for a planned October return. Martinez will make an application to the WBC to force the fight. Chavez won the title last Saturday in Los Angeles, with a twelve round majority decision over Sebastian Zbik of Germany. Marco Antonio Rubio, the mandatory challenger, is also planning to ask the WBC to secure a shot at Chavez.

i'd rather see martinez move up to super middleweight, being that martinez believes he will beat chavez jr...if martinez's desire it to be known as P4P best, his best bet is to move up to super middleweight and fight both ward and froch...beat both guys and he gets my vote for P4P, until then, pac is P4P best.

on a side note...its a shame that martinez is calling out pac, will outweight pac by about 30lbs on fight nite...which is like pac calling out the best bantamweight for a fight...like i said, martinez needs to move up to supermiddleweight, where the weight difference wouldnt be as big...and that martinez will be the one weighing less than his opponant

Oh so now its a cherry pick to fight a titlist that fights in the same weight class as u? Shoring that case for serg anyone short of sturm is a cherrypick at middleweight because everyone else is on the same level.
