what did chavez jr do this time around to make anyone believe that roach did anything to make him a better fighter? he still looked slow, still fought on the inside, hardly any jabs, horrible footwork, i mean the kid sucks all the way around.

personally, i would rate steward above roach... but roach comes really close. heres a list of some fighters each current top trainer worked/works with:

      • steward: chavez, cintron, cotto, oscar, hamed, hearns, holyfield, klitschko, lennox, taylor, toney, moorer, dawson, etc.
      • roach: tyson, oscar, b-hop, penalosa, vasquez, toney, pac, vanes, khan, JCC jr, etc
      • garcia: margs, mikey, donaire, etc.
      • beristain: marquez bros, lopez, zaragoza, etc.
      • naz: b-hop, mosley, etc
      • roger: floyd jr, some prospects, etc.
      • floyd sr: floyd jr, oscar, hatton, dawson, guzman, etc.
      • sarmiento: sergio, etc.
      • shields: tyson, forrest, diaz, tua, cintron, holyfield, adamek, arreola, etc.
      • mcgirt: tarver, adamek, gatti, malignaggi, etc.

i mean, resume is everything... too many people discredit freddie. the man does good work. period
good post wax but, for manny you omitted aaron prior, jimmy paul, and several other champs on sye***** behalf. you pulled a lot off the topp though once again good job

i thought he lost but could go either way. jcc jr did not look good to me for a fighter with 40 fights and a high pedigree. i wont say he sucks but i wont challenge that statement either.

This article and the writer are trash......did he bother to check any facts. Seems he was too busy sucking Bob Arum and MP's ****.

"though if memory serves this was after Floyd split the sheets with Top Rank"

Erm....no you ****ing idiot. He fought Corley and Mitchell before he fought Judah and subsequently bought out his contract.

Seems if Floyd v Ortiz do fight.....it's going to be on a Tuesday night.....seems practical....

Nacho Beristein doesn't get the credit he deserves as a great trainer. With Roach, he looks better than he really is cause Manny was already a good fighter. Nacho made Lopez, and the Marquez bros from the ground up.

I bet if Mayweather does come back he will first take an easy tune up fight and it wont be Ortiz. He will make Khan or Timothy Duckins move up, instead.
If it is a tuneup in preparation for a Pac fight, Floyd has to take on a lefty. Ortiz has to be that guy.
