I always wanted to know the outcome of Jones vs Jirov. I read an article that Jirov said jones is avoiding him because of his punching power.
Jones vs Jirov?

Jones would do to jirov what he did to toney and worse b/c after jirovs fight with toney he hasn't been the same fighter.Originally posted by sito1231I always wanted to know the outcome of Jones vs Jirov. I read an article that Jirov said jones is avoiding him because of his punching power. -
Jirov is still a good fighter after the loss from toney. A fighter inactive for 14 months, and still put a controversial fight. Jones will not be able to hand the granite-chin, who has excellent body punching. Jones is to weak for him.Comment

Yeah but he's much faster than him and will just dance circles around him IMHO, if he still has it ofcourse.Originally posted by sito1231Jirov is still a good fighter after the loss from toney. I would have put money on Jirov pre toney to beat Roy...(me and my brother used to fight about this one all the time)
I would bet that Jones would not or could not take half of the punishment that Toney took to beat Jirov, granted Roy would have moved a lot more but to beat a prime Jirov you had to go thru hell and Toney did.
Jones going thru hell...nahComment

hmm
Roy would never have had to go through hell like Toney did to win that fight. Toney has about zero foot movement, whereas Roy was all about foot-movement. Jirov is a lot more straight up than Tarver. Roy beat Tarver looking like **** so assuming he fought Jirov with the weight he had vs Ruiz or before Ruiz, Jones would UD Jirov.Comment

Jones put Jirov through contract hell a few years back, making him give in on every concession in the book. Finally Roy approved a contract that his lawyer drew up, Jirov signed on the dotted line, and Roy took the contract and threw it in the trash leaving Jirov high and dry.
Roy wanted no part of Jirov, he just wanted to mess with him. Both are so shot now that a fight now is not likely.Comment

I agree in part...
Jones loved to lay against the ropes in a number of his fights and let guys **** away, he did so in the first fight with Toney T, had he of done this with Jirov he would have paid a bigger price.
You assume Jones would have fought Jirov like he did Ruiz, well lets assume he fought like he did against Tarver...if Jones fought Jirov like he did against Tarver in their first fight I see him losing, Jirov was not going to get lazy like AT did.
He may have UD Jirov but he would have known he was in a real fight and for the longest time that is all I wanted to see Roy in was a real fight.
Hey Superlightweight, you dont honestly think Roy can KO Tarver do you? Forget your heart for a second (I understand heart I have picked the Denver Broncos to win the Super bowl for the last 2 decades)if your boy Roy is to win this fight we are looking at 1 boring ass fight, I know what your heart will say but can your brain agree with that?Comment
