Froch is a tough bastard who's already got some good names on his cv, but Calzaghe was champ for a long time and retired with 0 at the end of his record. The 1 defeat on Froch's record came from a Calzaghe victim too.

Props to Calzaghe for remaining undefeated. But last night Froch defeated a fighter that Joe avoided massively.

Tough question. In a head to head I would pick Calzaghe to win, but career wise Froch is fighting everybody and travelling all over the world to do it, which is something Calz didnt do.

If he beats Ward then you have to say that Froch clearly had the better career/resume(some may even say that now).

Froch definitely he has fought and beaten a higher calibre of opponents, just cause you fought bums for years and beat a past it roy jones and got a dodgy decision against hopkins and beat a past it eubank does not make you a great fighter. Calzaghe's technique was very poor as well, the man is rated by people that no nothing about the sport

              Froch has he better resume

Calzaghe was the better fighter in my view who didn't challenge himself as much as he should have

Calzaghe held the WBO Super-Middleweight belt for a decade, and won the WBC, WBA and IBF belts as well. He beat far too many bums, but also the likes of Robin Reid, Byron Mitchell, Kessler (who beat Froch) and he made Hopkins look old when they fought, which is impressive considering what B-Hop's done since then. Anyone who watched the Jeff Lacey fight could see how well Calzaghe could box. Calzaghe was ranked in the top 5 best boxers of the decade by Ring magazine, and they know a bit about the sport

I would so Calzaghe is the greater fighter currently, but its close.

In terms of competition Froch has had the tougher comp.

Had he beat Kessler he might be considered greater than Calzaghe, maybe.
