Props to your man. A good win with a lot of drama in it despite the fight ending in 7 rounds.

Vanes is going to become the next WBC Light Middleweight Champion.

Looked like Vanes wanted to finish it in the first round. Came out, uncharacteristically, with a new style, being aggressive from the get-go, and got caught by a slugger. Then he started boxing, picked him apart for 3 rounds, but then again seemed like he was in trouble and almost out of the fight in the 6th. In the 7th, it seems like he just let it all go, it was all heart, he showed the heart of a champion.

If he chooses to box, he can out box anybody. Tonight, he showed he can take a punch, and take a beating, and still come back and devastate you. I think Vanes found out a lot bout himself in this fight, and he will trust himself more in the future. I think he's ready for a title shot.

How is he the Number 1 contender?

Angulo, Williams and Rhodes are ranked ahead of him.

Williams is currently in the middleweight division, isn't he? His last figh was at middleweight and his next fight will be at middleweight (albeit at 155).
