Comments Thread For: Rubio Batters Ramalla, Eyes Chavez and Martinez Fights

At the Foro Polanco in Mexico City, WBC top ranked middleweight contender Marco Antonio Rubio (51-5-1, 44 KOs) stopped Ricardo Marcelo Ramalla (11-4-1, 7 KOs) in three rounds. Ramalla went down twice in the contest before it was stopped by the referee. Due to his April knockout of undefeated David Lemieux, Rubio is the mandatory challenger to the new WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

I bet they will target Rubio for Chavez next if not Cotto. Not a bad fight.

I don't believe they think Chavez is ready for Rubio.

I'd like to see it though.

LOL how is a "world champion" not ready for a gate keeper. Just goes to show what a joke Chavez's title is.

Rubio really struggled when he fought jr middle Rigoberto Alvarez, Canelo's older brother, Rigoberto is the slowest fighter ever, and he knocked down Rubio

He almost beat him but Rubio survived, and after that he lost his stamina and Rubio beat him, but he was very lucky.

Rubio doesn't have a great chin, 5 of his 3 losse came by KO, Kofi Jantuah, Saul Roman and Pavlik destroyed him in those fights.

It will be a really interesting fight

I don't think Arum is going to let Chavez Jr fight Veneno Rubio. He's not a very good boxer but this guy can punch, so he won't risk him. Only Cotto or completely out of shape Margarito.

Chavez will beat Rubio, it will be a slugfest but Rubio will lost because of his chin, if Rigo Alvarez put him down, Chavez will do it too.

                    Chavez beats Rigoberto Alvarez easily

Arum should do this fight in May 2012 in Mexico after the Cotto fight.

After all Rubio is the mandatory
