I like Pac, I think he is a really exciting and talented boxer. I just think his fanbase is a plague to the internet boxing community. I seriously can't wait for him to retire just so the *******s go away.

Maybe you should share your broad knowledge base of boxing and talk about one of the upcomming fights this weekend, instead of talking about Manny Pacquiao and his fans.

Try doing a thread on Froch vs Johnson, Kessler's return or on JJC Jr vs Zbik, or any other fight you are interested in this weekend.

Pacquaio isnt a fighter im feeling right now but the man is a phenom and is very exciting as well as very very good anyone can see that, he will have fans of all sorts. Trouble is when u have guys as good and as exciting as Manny u will naturally get alot of idiots on the bandwagon too like with Tyson for example......

Can't group them all together. If they know about and speak about other boxers in a knowledgeable way, but happen to have an irrational hang up for Pacquiao's greatness, then YES they are a real boxing fan. If someone has that same irrational hang up, but you ask them about Bernard Hopkins and they ask "who's that?" then they are just a fan of Pacquiao.

All sports have their fans that are attracted to single players or teams more than the sport as a whole. Nothing wrong with that

This unhealthy fascination with other boxing fans is something relatively new to boxing, it was not always like this. Fans of all shapes and sizes used to be far more polite and there was a time when interest in boxing (whoever your favorite) was something positive, something you had in common with other fans. Today there is so much hate, and disrespect, it's sickening. I always remind people that boxing is a gentleman's sport, so act like gentlemen, and if you need a breakdown about what that means, it means that gentlemen do not use terms like "*******" & *****", etc...
