From 1985 to 1989, he was the greatest of that time. Easily.

The rise & reign of Tyson was amazing to watch as a young fan.

There is no way in a million years that this should even be asked.

Mike Tyson is being inducted shorty into the Boxing Hall of Fame. I would expect a lot of Tyson related questions and threads, luckily its a boxing themed message board, so it's OK.

I inderstand your point but u should have asked something like "How great was Mike Tyson???" Or Where on your atg list is he ranked???" Asking if Tyson was the greatest fighter ever is crazy cuz he isn't even close to being the greatest fighter of all time. Just because he was must see tv, doesn't mean he was the greatest.

                Greatest what? Fighter, or heavyweight?

Obviously he wasn't the greatest fighter. He might be one of the greatest heavyweights, but he wasn't the greatest.

For instance, Prime Ali, the one that beat Sonny Liston, would beat the **** out of Tyson. Prime Ali was the greatest heavyweight, and he was the most iconic and important boxer too.

All people remember is the older more out of shape Ali, who didn't train for full three and half years until he came back, the one against Frazier and Foreman. But prime Ali was unstoppable. Ali was the only heavy weight who ever fought like Sugar Ray Robinson.

                  Greatest Lisper maybe.

Tyson maniacs are almost as bad as Bruce Lee Fanatics.

He doesn't come close to being The G.O.A.T. His resume was weak as f.uck.
