Not at this weight, no. Its a foregone conclusion. Same reason this website has a poll about who Pac should fight after he is done with Marquez. Even the people putting this site together arent trying to pretend this is a real fight.

I noticed he never hurt Mayweather in their fight at 147. What do you guys think?
I think all you guys that blamed JMM coming up in weight as an excuse why he looked so bad against Mayweather, are going to meet reality head on when JMM gives Pac one hell of a fight again. The reality is, JMM looked so bad against Mayweather because Mayweather is just that good.

Remember Floyd is an expert at not getting hit, and when he does, his head is usually rolling or moving to deflect/lessen the impact.

This right here. As Diaz said it's the accuracy that creates the problems

It's going to be pretty hard for JMM to stop Pacquiao at 144. The fight would be a lot more even at a 140, but there is the 144 pound limit for something important, not just for fun of course.

Still you should never count Marquez out. Yeah he was pretty slow against Mayweather, but he still was able to land some shots. Pacquiao is actually smaller than Floyd, so if he is able to land some punches he's going to hurt Pacquiao more than he hurt Floyd.
The difference between JMM and Manny's last opponents is that Marquez is actually going to put a fight, he's not afraid to throw his hands. Yeah, that may mean that in the end he's going to be KOd, but Marquez will not go down without a fight.
So in the end I think a lot depends of how Marquez behaves at 144. If he becomes too slow then he has no chance, but if he manages to be fast enough to get into Pacquiao's guard then we could have a good fight.

Still, Pacquiao should be the clear favorite in this fight.

Definitely agree in part. But you also have to admit that if you believe it's because Mayweather is just that good (as I do as well) then surely extra weight will be a compounded advantage to the already present and very real advantage of superior skill.

JMM has proven (twice) that he matches well with Manny and knows him better than anybody in the ring. I don't expect JMM to come in at 144. I'm looking for him to come in at a comfortable weight (140-141) and I'm looking for him to be effective for a majority of the fight. He won't win but he won't get blown out (at least not within the first 8 rounds).

It's not about power, Marquez is a good enough counterpuncher that Pac wont want to engage as hard as he did against guys like Marg & Clottey. It wasn't Molsey's power that made Pac respect him cause he never used it in the fight, it was his name and reputation as a very good fighter. Marquez is a great boxer and Pac knows it from experience, he will make this a tough and enjoyable fight just as long as he doesn't try to come in to the fight too heavy.

Yes they have fought but not at the 144 catchweight. Not for 4 years.... Both fighters have changed for the better and the worse.

Brick what do you think of Pac's power? Has it increased since then?

He doesn't need that much power, the fact that he lands so many punches takes a toll on you. He's an extremely accurate puncher who doesn't like to waste shots.
