It's gotta be obvious by now that people in general don't take these accusations seriously, and that peds are extremely overrated. In boxing, the accuser eventually becomes the butt of jokes and subject of scorn and ridicule, even called a coward in many cases. It's because accusing someone without any proof turn people off more than anything else. You'll observe that when the accuser gets interviewed on tv, the interviewer never even brings up the testing issue.
QFA. I was expecting the drug testing issue to be brought up in many of Floyd's past interviews on mainstream tv. It never did. Even the Pacquiao feature on 60 min last year lacked the peds topic. The major networks CNN, FOX, etc. could care less about it.
It matches what I see and hear around in my own life.

Without any concrete evidence or anything major, it's just Floyd's word. Unfortunately for Floyd, with all the other drama swirling around him and how controversial he is.. No one is taking his word over that of Congressman Pacquiao.
However the reality is, maybe mainstream media should give the issue slightly more light. The unwillingness to test seems like enough to start a witch hunt. Pacquiao might just not be big enough in mainstream media to begin tearing down yet. It's only just becoming popular for casual sports fans to treat Pacquiao like a superstar, another year of success and they may be ready to question and tear him down a bit.

Hmm. I don't know man. First time I heard this May/Pac ped issue was on a Detroit local tv. That was more than two years ago now. The news clip that was embedded on a news site basically blames Floyd for the fight not being made. It mentioned that Pac's compromise offer was far and above the current testing rules.
The tone hasn't changed much. You have to wonder why would these Americans side with a Filipino boxer who could barely speak their language? They don't. They just see it as it is. Popularity has nothing to do with it.

ESPN is a very close indicator of how the casual sports fan sees this, as it is how most sports fans get their information. And anytime this situation is mentioned, it's not in a dual sense mentioning both sides of the bargaining table. The conversation is simply, when will Mayweather step up. Now I don't necessarily agree with that idea, but it is the reality of mainstream sports media's view right now.
