  • Comments Thread For: Berto's Trainer is Not On Board With Ortiz Allegations

On Wednesday, former WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto caught many off guard by appearing to accuse his recent conqueror Victor Ortiz of using some type of Performance Enhancing Drugs prior to their raucous April bout. In a fight that saw each man hit the canvas twice, Ortiz would walk away with a close unanimous decision that obviously still has Berto reeling a bit.

simple solution, boxing needs to get on board like all other sports with more and efficient random blood and urine tests keeping up with the ped creators to keep it out this sport, until this is done any excellent performance from a boxer who someone thinks performed over their ability will be blamed for using peds, lets go boxing clean the sport up of peds, excuses and accusations

Well,at least his trainer can reason.Just because someone kicks ur a$$ Berto, doesn't mean they cheated to do it.Ur stamina has always been an issue & unlike the other guys coming up in weight to fight U,Ortiz was built to be bigger than 140.Stop complaining, work on ur stamina(it's ****ty) & try again.

I know you're a big Berto fan, but stop making excuses for his ****** comments. Nobody is blaming fighters with great performances for using steroids besides a few idiot boxers.

Once again, if ALL the other sports can do efficient blood testing and urine testing, why CAN'T boxing, and boxing needs it more than NBA, MLB and NFL, simply because it's more of a physical sport, this isn't guarding or tackling someone, it's hitting someone in the head or the body.

Also, I don't think Ortiz was cheating, Berto is just annoyed that his lost his undefeated streak.

Who's to say that boxing doesn't already have efficient blood and urine testing? Plenty of fighters have been busted before (Vargas, Roy, Toney, Mosley, ect.) with the current testing so it can't be that bad can't it? Not saying it's a bad idea, I'm all for cleaning up the sport. But boxing is too unorganized and corrupt at the moment and I feel that that PED testing is not the top priority for cleaning up the sport (although it should be a concern to an extend).
