    Agreed ^^^^^^

I got a feeling that it will take at least a few deaths in the ring before it ever gets sorted though. Maybe all boxers caught cheating should get an automatic attempted murder charge, maybe that will make them think twice. Because a year ban isn't doing anything.

Hey you never know. He might have been cheating. I mean look at Lance Armstrong right now. Been accused by former teamates of using and cycling was a big PED sport. Never failed a test in over 500 attempts but now the director of a swiss lab, that many say covered up a failed test, comes out and says his tests were “su****ious” and “consistent with EPO use”. This after the president of the cycling association said that wasnt true. My question is this: Has boxing become the new cycling and are officials covering it up for the better of the sport?

I hope not but if i were officials i would get on the ball and institute OST. After all this sport is hand to hand combat and you can kill someone.

But boxing is too unorganized and corrupt at the moment and I feel that that PED testing is not the top priority for cleaning up the sport (although it should be a concern to an extend).
Mosley was never caught out by any drug test. Toney was caught because he was ****** enough to use a steroid that they use for horses and stays in your system for like 2 years, he wasn't using the good s**t that Mosley was. That good s**t, can be out of your system in hours. Tommy Morrison has openly admitted that he used steroids as well and was never caught. The current system is not good enough, its that simple.

You are right about there being a lot of corruption in the sport but I don't agree with you that proper testing is not a priority. I would rather lose a fight to a clean fighter because of a corrupt judge than to lose a fight and possibly get brain damage because my opponent was on peds.

Wow why does everyones mind go straight to PEDs. Calm down everyone I was just talkin about Ortiz eating his spinach like popeye...He wanted to be strong on fight night. I know the lil dude at Whole Foods who hooks him up. Good luck in your Iron Man @viciousortiz

            good post.
i think PED prevention is up to the fighters' management to stipulate in the negotiation stage... its obvious each athletic commission isnt jumping to enforce this. like ive stated before, fighters need to include this in contracts instead of falsely accusing everyone (after the fact).

Anyone out there either trying to defend his comments, or "explain them away" aka the usual bunch (mayweather trolls/fans), are as delusional as Berto is. What you guys woke up one day and found a cause, because your hero got a twitter account and says things that a drunk guy would say at 3 in the morning, except he says them sober?

We live in a new era of whiners now. Those that can't handle a loss like a real fighter resort to the "steroid clutch" now in a attempt to discredit winners!
Lets get one thing clear, I'm all for olympic style testing not just for one or two certain fighters but for EVERY FIGHTER in the sport. And those who are REALLY serious about cleaning up the sport with high celebrity status and certain connections should go after the boxing commisions, take them to court if they have to and try and get the rules change so EVERYONE will be obligated to take the test instead of singling out certain fighters w/out evidence which is very unfair!
When this test was originally mooted by Mayweather it was disclosed that it was impractical to test everyone this way, that it was a very expensive test costing over $20,000.

Even if higher volume reduced the cost, it would still be far too expensive for most promoters and certainly not affordable even as a built-in cost, for any but the major fighters. So it would have to be only for main event highly attended fights. I can't see it being installed as a normal procedure.

On this point, I wonder how the Olympic Committee can arrange and afford this test??
For them, it was all about the Communist Bloc athletes, who had been winning almost every sporting event, and, when the women began to look very masculine, raised su****ions which were found to be correct. I always thought that they tested only finalists.
