It's going down in the history books,so.........................!But there is 1 thing to consider, all the other title fights were legit oponents.Meaning those fighters weren't caught trying to cheat, suspended for a year & couldn't get liscense in half a country.

There is nothing horrid about Pacman getting the 154 title at 150,catchweight title fights have been a part of the sport before & after Pacman. It's the condition of the fight that makes it a sham.Bob Arum jumped through loops to make Pacman's oponent Margarito. It could have been K-9 he fought,or a rematch against Cotto,or Foreman,or Dzinziruk at his catchweight. But it was Margarito.A caught cheater, who couldn't get a liscense in half the country & some doctored up rankings.Tell me,which other title fight went to that extent??

that "8th" title is a sham and it's all because of boxing's dirty politician scumbags like Sulaiman and Arum

as a Pac fan, i cannot give this credit to Pacquiao

4 lineals & 7 division belts were good enough for Pac as his ticket to Canastota
Pacquiao won 8 titles! Deal with it. Pacquiao made mince meat out of the monster in the LMW division and the current list ain't any more formidable. The top guy in light middle is Cotto, who Pacquiao already destroyed. Then you got Cintron, Ruznik, Perro, and Alvarez - guys who are not worth 60 bucks to see get their a$$e$ kicked around by Manny. Trust me, Pacquiao takes 8!

Then there's this guy.I don't know bout U,but Watching Mosley wolf Margarito on regular hbo was more satisfying than watching Pacman decision an already faded, shot cheating version of him.Being that Angulo has never been in a boring fight & packs real ko power & isn't shot,I would have gladly forked over 60 bucks for that.

Angulo who lost to Cintron in a decision? I did love the knockout blow to Julio, best sounding chin checker punch EVER! Angulo moves like Margarito. I see the same result.

What does loosing to Cintron have to do with how competitive Angulo would be against Pacman though??

plus some of the ATGs weren't multi-divisional champions
Coz that Pac 8th is just a decoration! Pac has the Legit 7th crown! And Pac might go for a legit 9th with Sergio Martinez! You can say the Pac 8th was a fraud but still got the record 7th. Until someone match the Pac 7th, Only then that u have the right to debate Pac's 8th.

For the mean time, find me Floyd so Pac can break his 4th Lineal title! Floyd head will be a good 5th Lineal title decoration!

The ring belt is the most prestigious belt in boxing. No sanctioning BS can get you that title, you actually have to earn it.

his name is already marked in stone, he doesn't need any more than what he already had

and im not even blaming him, i blame those who's cashing in their pockets on his name while he's hot

Pac's greatness won't be measured by these unnecessary title belts, all boxing fans should know that

Roach didn't drop DLH to 147, DLH cherrypicked Pac from 135...read your boxing history
Pac beat then 147 champ Cotto, defended it a couple of times at the limit (Clottey, Shane) which makes its more legit

can't say the same against that 150 vacant belt, which Pac dropped afterwards

and yes i won't be surprised if you gave credit Pac for beating Marg over Cotto, you're Puerto Rican
My main issue is that Roach didn't have a problem with DLH coming in at 147, but then made a special case for Cotto for him to go down to 145, then ditches that and allows Clottey and Mosley to come in at 147. That's all I'm questioning. He then made Margarito come in at 150, which is closer to 147 than 154.

And yeah, that belt that Pacquiao gained is pretty much meaningless...gained at a really bizarre catchweight, none of the fighters were ranked, Pacquiao didn't defend it...although you could say the same for the 140 belt.

But at the end of the day, Pacquiao is still a much better fighter than 90% of the fighters out there, so all we're doing in this thread is grasping at straws.
