you act like Hopkins hasnt put beatings on any boxers before. even with not a heavy workrate he put one on Pavlik and others. not saying its going to happen. i think the Hopkins-Dawson fight will be close but i wouldnt be surprised if Hopkins makes Dawson look foolish.

i agree he'll look better than his last fight but that doesnt mean its gonna be like that everytime out. Hopkins could possibly out smart him and frustrate him enough to make him miss and pay for it. Hopinks may be 46 but he isnt that easy to hit even if he isnt using much lateral movement. even Steward says Dawson needs to have more fire in his fight. he better hope he doesnt act like the uninterested fighter he has been. you figure even off only an 8 month lay off he would of fought like that in his last fight with Steward now backing him. you know he told em that stuff before his last fight. this dude is young and 8-9 months off is nothing compared to what some other fighters have been off and some look a hell of a lot better than he did off longer lay offs. i could really under stand a few more months but 8 isnt that bad. i do believe it'll be a close fight though.

Hopkins is not in his prime, his physical skills have declined greatly, his work-rate is much lower now, and many of his recent fights have been lackluster and sloppy. This isn't the same Hopkins 10 years ago when he fought Trinidad. He was much better 10 years ago, than he is now.

You can't compare Pavlik to Dawson. Pavlik is a slow one-handed boxer and was fighting 10lbs above his natural weight-class. Also Pavlik was sick before the fight, so he couldn't let his hands go as often. Hopkins can possibly out smart him, but Dawson is a skilled boxer himself who's also good defensively. Hopkins put a beating on Dawson? lol, that's funny, Dawson's handspeed is so fast, it's basically hard to counter him. I remember when Dawson looked lackluster against Glen Johnson, in his next fight against Tarver, he looked razor sharp, and looked like the Dawson that fought against Admaek. We will see a different Dawson for sure, and he might possibly overwhelm Hopkins because of his youth, speed, and skills.

Hopkins will school Dawson, 18 month or so Hopkins was definitely ducking him but since then I've not seen anything from Dawson to make me think he's mentally tough enough to handle Bernard. Chads defence against a right hand is just to move backwards, and Hopkins is a master of the sneaky right. Bernard on points with a knockdown, maybe a late stoppage. Cant see him fighting Cloud afterwards though

boxingwizard, you're making a lot of excuses for dawson. i'm not buying the 8 month layoff excuse. that ain't that long. you say dawson aint dumb and he will correct his mistakes? maybe he is dumb. any fighter that has to keep changing trainers like that raises a couple eyebrows! you keep calling hopkins old and saying he's not what he was 10 years ago..lets not forget the facts: hopkins just beat the guy (twice) that dethroned your boy. thats a fact.

I love Bhop but I think Dawson is going to show why Bhop was ducking him all these years. Especially now that he has Steward in his corner he is going to fight a lot smarter. Dawson has always had the tools and skills just not the brains. That's where Manny Steward comes in.

Dawson is so overrated on this board its ridiculous lol. I'm not impressed by him. BHop is going to surprise everyone and beat him too. Bute and Johnson are two guys i think that would defeat Bhop right now.

agreed partially, i think dawson is a talented and skilled guy but he has

no ring or fight iq, is not capable of making correct adjustments and i think

hopkins is a master at making a guy fight his fight...if pascal can make

chad fight pascals fight then hopkins can definitely make chad fight hops

fight..

also, i think hopkins beats bute....

bute is solid, a great fighter but he has been fighting C fighters, while

hopkins has been fighting world champions...

there is a big difference in batting practice and facing greg maddux......

I think Dawson is UNDERRATED ON THIS BOARD because all people focus on and talk about is "HOW BORING HE IS" and they completely overlook that guy SKILLS

I like Dawson by UD over B-Hop, I thought Dawson would have beat B-Hop 2-3 years ago when he was calling him out back then

as much as I am a fan of B-Hop...I think HE IS THE ONE BEING OVERRATED for beating a very one-dimensional fighter with STAMINA ISSUES, Dawson don't have those Stamina Issues and he is a MUCH BETTER BOXER OVERALL despite losing to Pascal, I think in a rematch Dawson would have gotten a UD over Pascal also

but we shall see, I think Hopkins vs Dawson will be no different then Glen Johnson vs Dawson II, I think Dawson makes Hopkins REALLY LOOK HIS AGE!

I wouldn't be shocked if something comes up for Hopkins though and the MAJOR MISTAKE people will do especially on this board leading up to Dawson vs Hopkins fight (IF IT HAPPENS) is that they will try to use the fact that "PASCAL Beat Dawson and Then Hopkins Beat Pascal...So That Means Hopkins Will Beat Dawson" LOL if only boxing worked like....BUT IT DOESN'T!
