Well of course, he was extremely lazy. I just don't buy it yet, maybe he's doing better this time but from what I've seen (last 6 or 7 fights) he's a limited boxer. Let's hope that with this training camp he'll improve, but I still see him as an overrated boxer, protected by Top Rank, and without the heart to become a true world champion. Maybe I'm wrong, only time will tell.

Go on youtube and watch Vanes toy with this guy in sparring. I don't think Chavez will ever be anything special, but the guy he's facing isn't all that impressive either. Maybe he'll peak with this win. Then again Cotto is a WW fighting a MW if that fight happens.
what you talking about clearly julio was throwing harder punches and connecting equally i dont think with out the protection equipment vanes would of last he would not be countering like that he would be running

That's how I saw it too. Vanes was clearly faster and was throwing the flashier combinations but Chavez Jr. was landing the much harder shots.

Both of them had their moments.

In the sparring with Vanes Chavez was easy to hit but so was Vanes. I dont know who would win in a real fight but Chavez it seems hits harder than Vanes and his punching power might be improved now. But he has to work on his defence. His punchin technique is not that bad but his defence sucks.
