I'm not so sure about that, maybe Peter couldn't take a bare knuckle punch as well as a gloved one, these sorts of things can only be a matter of opinion.

In a street fight, Peter would first loose eyesight from the barehanded jab and then get KOed by the barehanded left hook.

Peter is tough but if there ever was a rematch I belive he would get whooped, Wlad seen almost every punch coming, one thing Wlad coulda done tho was to catch Peter off guard he had many chances do so, he gave Peter too much respect even when Peter was hurt, that is a big difference between Wlad and Vitali, Vitali has no respect for his oppenents and he can take care of his oppenents when they get hurt, the Wlad of few years ago was the same way but a few losses have given him to much respect for his oppenets for example Williamson and Peter fights...If u look at the Wlad vs Brewster he had no respect for Brewster and threw way to many punches he needs to be more like that but not as crazy. Wlad is a great fighter but he needs to learn to trust himself more he is better then he thinks...

Peter proved that he will be champ someday. He's got the power and chin. His boxing will improve with experience. Peter got out boxed pretty easy, yet Peters power was the real deal. Give Sam some time and he will be very very tough to beat. I still cannot believe his chin. Wonder how he takes it to the body?

i don't belive wladimir's strategy was to ko peter. so he wasn't looking to land many power combinations, but to fight a smart fight.

as for going toe to toe with peter, i don't think it would be the wisest strategy, but i did see quite a few opportunites where wlad could've taken a huge advantage of slugging peter. perhaps he wants to keep a few tricks up his sleeve.

now with vitali, i wouldn't mind seeing him go toe to toe with anybody. he already did it with two of the hardest punchers at the time - lewis and sanders.

              Long live the Klitschko brothers!

...****in eh Achilles!!! Something that I also noticed, and this article kind of touches on it, is that Wlad did not seem overjoyed with this win in the least. If you watched his reaction at the decision it was a matter of fact sort of reaction and he took no joy in it whatsoever. I think he was extremely dissapointed in the knockdowns regardless of how or why they happened. I don't think he envisioned Peter getting to him at all. I think he is totally pissed that he got those two early back of the head punching induced knockdowns. IMO your going to see an even better Wlad in his next several fights. Just from his body language I would say that he is kind of dissapointed in himself even though he dominated except for those two rounds.

Wouldn't surprise me to learn that his bone structure and skull were of abnormal thickness.

                  good observations....

Wlad was cursing after a KD in round 10... you could leap-read that

Wlad was pissed and looked like the old Wlad. I think Wlad will keep improving a great deal from fight to fight.

You have in advertantly touched on exactly why wlad showed up and won this fight.

After his last 2 losses he was referred to as "damaged goods"
and why? because the public has seen all too many times a fighter who is beaten that can never come back to what he once was.

What makes Wlad different is this....

So many fighters when they lose they also lose their heart because they realize finally "I can never be the best" once a fighter has been convinced that his dream is no longer reachable he can no longer have the heart to be a great fighter ever again.

Wlad on the other hand knows he should have beaten Sanders, and he knows he should have beaten Brewster. the thought that either man was better than him has never caught on. his losses are his motivation, anyone that has ever competed knows that there is no greater motivation than redemption for your loss, especially one you felt was easily avoidable.
