Eric and Chad used to spar way before they fought...Eric is a natural right hander converted to a southpaw just like Chad...plus my boy Eric wasn't there mentally for that one...I know that!!!...but Chad looked really strong that night...I liked how he showed my boy mercy as well...Chad is a good guy...cool cat....but he'll get EXECUTED later this year by the man!!

I think Dawson got too comfortable with his position AT THE TOP and was Top 5 P4P, at that point he probably felt "I AM THE CHAMPION, I HAVE ALL OF THESE BELTS, I CAN JUST GET TO THE CARDS AND GET A WIN"

I think that is when he kinda lost focus and motivation, also the fact that he would change trainers so much could be a sign that he LACKED THE DISCIPLINE AND DEDICATION and was probably getting by on just PURE NATURAL ABILITIES

Floyd Mayweather Sr is CRAZY but I thought he should have stayed with him especially how good Sr had him looking against Adamek

I still think Dawson has all the ability to be the MOST COMPLETE FIGHTER IN BOXING TODAY...if Steward can't get it out of him then NOBODY WILL BE ABLE TO...Steward is the MASTER at working with TALL FIGHTERS!
Truth ^. But does dawson have the mentality to work the way steward wants him to? I dont think his inability to punch with his opponent is a style flaw. It's just something he doesn't like doing. I notice dawson doesn't like looking "bad". The way he admires his work is further evidence that he only likes to exert himself at times where he knows he will look good doing it. At this stage of the game, he will only be getting the best at 168 and 175.. all of them have something he hates.

He has to start digging down and doing whatever it takes to win. Stop admiring his work and just working.

I don't know what it is, but Stewad isn't the answer to me. It looks like Dawson won't be as active as he was before. To me his southpaw jab and his combinations were what made him dangerous, and now it looks like he might end up being a staight up 1-2 guy.

He left Dan Birmingham (Winky Wright's trainer) to go train with the Predator and he's been fighting in a similar style since.

Watch the Ian Gardener fight before this and you'll see Chad lighting up a good unorthodox opponent, who wanted to use constant lateral movement, get his combinations off, and keep moving. An inactive Gardener gave Gennady Golovkin everything he could handle after the Dawson fight, and Dawson ran through him before stopping him.

Watching the Gardener and Harding fights before the pascal fight had me thinking he would run through Pascal.

I still rock with Dawson, but it is frustrating seeing someone with so much potential losing to or winning pedestrian decisions against lesser fighters. Hopefully, Steward can get him to start breaking his opponents down, instead of just winning rounds with good clean punches.

Exactly what he's content on doing, too. I think some killer instinct would go a long way for chad. I noticed in teh Diac fight he was hit at the bell multiple times and was given a hook at the final bell. Each time he never reacted. he never rolled his eyes, got upset, gave Diac a dirty look, complained to the ref, nothing. he just turned and walked to his corner.

            It's not a 'fight' to chad.. it's a 'sport'.

It is absolutely nothing wrong with Dawson Avoiding Punches...he has that ABILITY TO DO IT AND DO IT VERY WELL, the problem is sometimes that he just FLAT OUT STOP THROWING PUNCHES and just start DODGING PUNCHES, I like him when he DODGE PUNCHES and then fire back with some COMBOS like he did against Adamek and even Glen Johnson in their second fight

but yeah that is the QUESTION...I don't know if he has A.D.D. or something but he seems like a very Hard Headed and STUBBORN GUY, I don't like when he gives excuses in his Corner, he even did it in his recent fight, Steward didn't want to hear it at all...All Dawson have to do is LISTEN TO HIS TRAINER, if he does that he is going to be VERY DIFFICULT TO BEAT, but against Diaconu I thought he tried to take punches on purpose to try and PROVE that he does have some TOUGHNESS and that was ****** because Diaconu does have pretty good power and he staggered Dawson a few times

TOTALLY AGREE WITH THAT! Steward seems to want LESS DEFENSE AND MORE POWER PUNCHES!
