and the contract was changed practically at the last minute forcing Marquez to agree to it otherwise, all that preparation and time spent would have been wasted.

Cotto was given much time to consider his options and when he finally decided to agree to it, he wasn't FORCED to ANOTHER compromise at the last minute.

in fact, it took quite some time for cotto to decide to the point people thought that the fight wouldn't push through.
Lol both had a choice. They didn't have to fight. Kind of funny that the 2 guys effected by weight lost... ironic.

Lol 2 pounds wouldn't have made a difference what so ever in either fight. Its funny to see you try every way possible to not discredit this fight yet point at every detail to discredit Floyd's .

At the end of the day it still Floyd and Pac who are former jmw and Pac being current WW champions fighting a LW who hasn't won a fight at WW.

just a waste of money, their promoting tour means nothing, pacs fights are becoming like hollywood just an act..JMM has no chance to win at the weight..manny is a stable WW..JMM is gonna get a beating..it's sad because at a good weight we know how good the fight would be and we know how much JMM punished him..this fight means nothing to real boxing fans because only duckqiaos nutt hangers gonna feel good about pac "winning" the fight.

I think that is a totally absurd thing to say..... RIDICULOUS, in fact.

Martinez, Bradley, Ward, Hopkins, Froch, ALL have a better recent resume than Pacquiao..... even my boy Mares outdoes Pac with Perez, Vic, then Agbeko.

        Manny Pacquiao's last 7 opponents.....

Lately, a number of observers have commented that all of Manny Pacquiao's recent opponents have either been old, faded, or inept. Let's take a closer look at Pac's recent fights, and see if there is any truth to that allegation.....

        Accusations leveled at Pacquiao include.....

        * Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
        * Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
        * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

Let's apply that criteria to Manny's last 7 opponents, and see how they stack up.

        ====================================

David Diaz - Not a top fighter, faded, disadvantaged.....
        * Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
        * Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
        * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

Oscar De La Hoya - Shot, drained, and shrink-wrapped.....
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
        * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

Ricky Hatton - Not a top fighter, faded, and disadvantaged.....
        * Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
        * Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
        * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

Miguel Angel Cotto - Badly faded / shopworn, and disadvantaged.....
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
        * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

Joshua Clottey - Not a top fighter, and strangely innocuous.....
        * Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
        * Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
        * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

Antonio Margarito - Not a top fighter, faded, disadvantaged.....
        * Manny will not fight a skilled boxer
        * Manny will not fight a skilled counter-puncher
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
        * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

Shane Mosley - Faded, shopworn, and disadvantaged.....
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is in their prime
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is on top of their game
        * Manny will not fight anybody who is coming off a win
        * Manny will not fight anybody without a distinct advantage

        ====================================

All-in-all, that is a damn shabby line-up for a supposed P4P fighter, especially when you consider all of the advantages afforded to Pac during those fights..... e.g. fighting for a vacant JMW title, at catch-weight, against a BUM, and using 8oz gloves

Now, I can understand a top fighter taking the odd bout against a lesser opponent.....
but EVERY opponent in your last 7 fights?

How fkn lame is that ?

The last time Pacquiao fought a live dog was Marquez II, and according to a significant number of trainers/fighters/journalists/analysts..... HE LOST!!

SUMMARY: There is no question that Manny Pacquiao is a very carefully manufactured fighter with a padded resume'.

Neither did Floyd and no title was on the line. Its funny to see you avoid the question when We both know that Pac wants the advantage and wants jmm to be slow, fat, and none mobile like he was vs Floyd. As we all know WW is not JMMs weight class.

Also, since when did Manny every have to cut weight since fighti ng at WW. Roach says its hard to keep weight on him. We all know he could make 140 easy. Cutting weight is a very very very very weak and lame excuse to ignore the real reason as to why.

Sorry kid, I am a boxing fan, so I do not consider fight-night weight when I am discussing a matchup, because it is completely irrelevant. Boxing uses weight divisions, and Marquez is a lightweight.

The amount of muscle-mass and conditioning that you can take into a fight is solely determined at the official weigh-in, rehydration weight is completely irrelevant and can even be detrimental.

FACT: Marquez weighed 135 for Katsidis.....

STOP TALKING ABOUT FIGHT-NIGHT WEIGHT !!

Where the *** do these clowns all come from ?

Manny p1sses himself everytime that Martinez mentions his name.

                  Martinez would KILL Pacquiao !!

Sergio is the polar opposite to Manny's last 7 opponents. He is skilled, fast, tough as hell, and most importantly..... he is right on top of his game.

When did Pacquiao last fight somebody like that?

I will shave my head if Manny " padded " Pacquiao even takes that fight

                  You are dreaming.

i don't understand why some so called true boxing fans does not like the pac - jmm III when there is no other option for pac for now that can create BIG profit because the other supposed to be opponent is still on vacation...
