lol....you mean to say leonard winning a lh title and a smw title at the same time at 168 is impressive?.....

also...ray leaonard was getting his @ss handed to him by lalonde for the first half of the fight, and this was lalond dropping down a weight division without being able to rehydrate, what makes anyone think he was healthy as ****?.....lol

imean, dropping down one weight division is one thing...but dropping down one weiht division and not being able to rehydrate is just ****ing ridiculous.....in this age, peopl would be saying he was weightdrained plain and simple...

wrong again...leonard winning 4rth and fifth div title is comparable to manny's 8th weight class...so basiclly, pac is a 7 div champ and leonard 3.....

                    Duran Next For Leonard

Roberto Duran will be Sugar Ray Leonard's next opponent.

''It's Duran, absolutely,'' Bob Arum said yesterday. Arum promoted Leonard's last bout, the draw with Thomas Hearns in June, and will be promoting the third Leonard-Duran fight.

Duran, 38 years old, and Leonard, 33, last met Nov. 25, 1980, when Leonard regained the World Boxing Council welterweight title Duran had taken from him earlier that year.

Duran, Arum said, has been guaranteed a purse of $7.6 million and will also receive a percentage of the proceeds. ''Leonard,'' Arum said, ''will be completely on percentages.''

The date and site of the bout were still being negotiated yesterday.

Leonard is the W.B.C. super-middleweight champion; Duran is the W.B.C. middleweight titleholder. Both titles will be at stake, but the match will be fought at the 160-pound middleweight limit.

Need More? "I've promoted Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, and Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter I have ever seen. Compared to all those names, he's as good as any of them. I will go on record that Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter I have ever seen that includes Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and Marvin Haggler. The best fighter I have ever seen.” -BOB ARUM

OF COURSE Arum is not the only promoter Leonard work with but bottom line is that they worked together enough times, so I really wasn't that far off although i will gladly admit that I wasn't 100% Correct or maybe I didn't word what I meant correctly

I am not 100% Sure but I am almost positive that Arum was part of Promoting or "CO-PROMOTING"...what ever....the Ray Leonard vs Donny Lalonde fight as well because I remember it was some type of issues with Bob Arum and a Former Trainer of Donny Lalonde or something like that

but bottom line no matter if it was "Co-Promoting" or what not...THEY DID WORK TOGETHER A FEW TIMES and that was MY POINT! in this post as well as the OTHER POST...OF COURSE ARUM DIDN'T MAKE RAY LEONARD, Leonard pretty much MADE HIMSELF BY WINNING A GOLD MEDAL! Back then if you won a Gold Medal that was INSTANT STARDOM

sadly, if somebody else won 2 world tiles in 2 weight div's in 1 fight , you'd never hear the end of it..like "that mofo was just ther to make black fighters look bad".....but since america is in its apologetic era, a black person is given a pass whether its about cheating ,murderin soemone , or being racist...thats how it works now..
