So you just completely ignore the posts saying that Arum DIDN'T really have ANYTHING to do with negotiating Leonard's fights?

Catchweights were around long before Arum, long before Leonard, they've been around forever. People acting like catchweights immediately discredit a fighter. Bunch of idiots.

i never once said leonard was not great..

and i enjoy good fights but not **** talk thats not backed up with actions...floyd is nothing but talk as evident of him being retired and still talking ****....

man, truth might not be as what you want it to be but truth is truth..it is what it is....not even the most intelligent man can change that!......
Nope the main topic is leonards "adventure" above 160/5 div champ label, not if he has been ******ed. I cant see what it has to do with boxing. You wrote a ****** post and brought up the subject and when being called out on it, its not relevant. Very weird way of debating, but lets forget about that.

you called leonard a BABIED champion, that suggests you dont see him as great. I certainly dont think babied = greeat

the truth is, that you really dont know the truth and there´s probably only a handfull of people who do.

        QUOTE]

there is a post in this thread with an article, where arum himself claims to have done so.

Leonard's legacy in the minds of most climates with his fight versus Hagler. The subsequent fights and events that followed did nothing to add to or diminish his legacy. The fight with "Golden Boy" was a money grab nothing more, nothing less.

              cool..

but why is pacquao's legacy supposed to take a hit when he fought at catchweights for titiles. those fights aren't his defining fights, not even in his top 5 fights.

              what's with the double standard?

Completely ignored Veerapol Sahaprom at Bantamweight, and then he let Humberto Soto punk out his brother and ducked him. He also ignored Guzman, but I still gave props props @ 126 and 130. He didn't fight the best at 135 or 140, yet claims to "still" be a 135-140 lb fighter. He watered down what he could be achieving after 130 with selective matchmaking, and is basically using boxing and his popularity now as a vessel to eventually make himself president of the Philippines. No double standard, that's just what his career will be remembered as in my eyes. Arum Legacy also will be culminated in making Pacquiao president, that is their real agenda.

When he signed to fight Hatton, who was the best at 140?

I don't know what this thread is suppose to prove. That when you're the man on top you fight on your terms. It went for Leonard he did it plenty of times in plenty big fights even the ones that defined his legacy. Oscar did it as well and Pac is doing it now.

But, at the end of the day as far as greatness goes, Oscar was never on Pac level and Pac is not on Leonard level.
