Eubank was asked on his messageboard about his amateur days and heres some things he said when asked questions

What I achieved as an amateur boxer was the Spanish Golden Gloves title.

      Chris

Same as the Golden Gloves, but Spanish.

Yes it's true that I reached the semi-finals of the US National Golden Gloves in 1984.I don't remember the name of the guy who beat me

Don't remember any of the names of the guys who beat me, sorry

thats very weird. i have a lot of amateur ranking books from back then and barkley isnt rated in the top 10 and at that time, as now, to make the world championships you have to be the best guy in the united states and barkley was never that. i have no idea how he could have even qualified but i am going to investigate. i am going to hear back from reggie johnson on the other thing. we'll see. as for mylon watkins, so you know, mylon was a top of the line u.s. amateur. he got stopped by mark brelandin the 1984 olympic trials but then went on and won the national golden gloves afterwards severaltimes. he may have went to olympicsin 88 but in 86 he got indefinitely suspended from usa boxing due to a violation that happened on an international trip he was on

          Eubank

WELL.....I just talked to Reggie Johnson himself and he toldme not only did he never fight Eubank at the OHIO STATE FAIR but that he himself never evenfought at the Fair, period. So i dont know where yuo guys are getting some of this amateur info but itis wrong. i just asked Breland if Barkely fought with him at the world championships and he said he didnt remember Barkely even being there let alone winning a medal. I am still going to check further on that one, though.

That site you got them from is WRONG..and let me tell you...I won the OHIO FAIR in 1987...you dont get AN INVITE to fight someone there. I also have the results section in magazine that cameout that month with a full story on 17 year old tyson and it has the results in it...Johnson and Eubanks are not there. Besides... Reggie himself told me he did NOT fight at the Fair

Yes this is true but Iran was undoubtedly one of the premier burglars (both professional and amatuer) of his time...He was the best!

I Just Talked To Breland And He Doesn't Remember Barkley Being There At The 1982 Worlds. He Is Pretty Sure It Was Virgil Hill At 165. I Dont Ever Remeber Barkley Even Being Top 10 Amateur Let Alone Being In The Worlds. Also Reggie Johnson Told Me He Never Fought In The Ohio State Fair

Iceman, You just proved that some of these sites info are wrong, especially the European boxing sites. I've read some really ****** thing before on some European boxing sites, that doesn't make any sense.
