But at a weight that he's never fought at before??.....

Pac has fought (for Martinez' belt) at 154lbs.
People keep mentioning how Pac has fought at 154 but that still doesn't change the fact that the difference in weight between Martinez and Hopkins would be smaller than the difference between Pacquiao and Martinez.

Margarito is a little smaller than Martinez and at this stage sucks compared to martinez. He does not punch half as hard as Martinez. Why do people bash Pac for fighting dodgy competition then ask Pac to fight Martinez, a fight which is not competitive at all as Pac would lose by KO.

That's the point exactly. Both claims are ******. You have to understand there are dumbass posters on this site and apparently dumbass writers. Martinez shouldn't fight Pacquiao because he IS too big. The same with Hopkins fighting Martinez.

Don't you think it's ridiculous to want Hopkins fighting Martinez? Since it's the same concept as Martines vs Pacquiao.

Yes I do. That is my point. I am saying that people should not expect Pac to fight Martinez the same way Martinez should not fight Hopkins. Martinez wants a payday and says he would KO Pac. Great. He should KO Pac since he is a powerpuncher (recently, not in his early career) and has a 20 pound weight advantage.

          Well said.

I think if Martinez got a 168 title[I doubt it would be at a catchweight of 164lbs] i'm sure he would run back down to 160, and then the real SMW's would start calling him out like "well you won a title here, come visit us again some time". But, Martinez never went up to win a title at SMW

This doesn't change the fact that Pacquiao vs Martinez is not competitive at all. People only won't this fight because Pacquiao would get knocked out. B.Hop vs Martinez would not be competitive either.

Martinez is a little heavier, much much faster and a much much harder puncher.

marg was 165 on fight night against pac and pac destroyed him.... and martinez was 168 on fight night in his last fight, if martinez can do what he does and come into the fight on fight night at 165 would that be too big for pac? lol i have no intentions on seeing pac and martinez fight nor do i care for sergio to fight bhop but i just want that question answered straght forward without bringing up bhop or floyd

i think pac so called moving up to 154 and getting the belt at 150 against marg was the worst move of his career, this is why he can be called out at 154!!! anything under that i give him credit for... tho i have my arguments but that 8th division is just terrible

It wouldn't. Martinez is that much better than Margarito and his style plus being southpaw would be a nightmare for Pacquiao. Resulting in a for sure KO.
