any fighter caught with illegal hand wraps needs to be arrested and charged ! if your caught pre-fight charge them with attempted agg battery w/ a deadly weapon and if your caught post fight agg battery w/ deadly weapon! 15 yrs up that road will teach you somthing!!!

Anyone who fights with loaded wraps should be required to have one more fight before being banned for life. That fight should be a rematch, and this time the victim should get to fight barefist. Then you ban his ass for life.

You are on another world. Stop talking nonsense. The reason that Margarito was given that 1 year suspension was BECAUSE, not only were his wraps not HARD, but the traces found in them were commonly also found in MANY other substances, INCLUDING cosmetics.

Don't forget the his long time trainer took FULL responsibility and said that Margarito never looks at his wrappings which are so commonplace for a fighter who has had his hands wrapped LITERALLY THOUSANDS of times by the same trainer.

Basically the suspension was a "slap on the wrist" (because he should have watched his wrappings like a hawk....maybe??) just to show that even the slightest infraction would be
punished. It also made them feel "Macho"......

If he'd actually been guilty, he'd have been banned for life, as others have been. But his only "crime" was...that the little pad had already been used and they were supposed to be NEW.

I have news for you. In case you haven't heard........ a boxer's BARE FISTS are regarded by Law as being "deadly weapons" and a boxer who hits another person is charged with using a deadly weapon.

At least that's the way it was when i was still a Law student, many years ago. I believe that such is still the case.
