imho he can make lightweight but to what expense?

i think the end game for team pac is to fight mayweather and its beneficial for them to stick at WW, anyway the fight with jmm would be better at 140, Pac going down 5lbs on his usual weight of 145 and marquez going up 5lbs from lightweight ...

so pac can weigh in at 148 on fight night again? itll be the same *****. JMM doesnt have to fatton up to 144 if he cant. hell he can even weigh in at 135 if he wants to. either way theyll both be 42+ on weigh in

Last time I heard Nacho doesn't have any problem.

Marquez's trainer Nacho Beristain is not concerned with a possible welterweight limit. He stated in a recent interview that Pacquiao always weighs in well below the limit of 147 and the two boxers would be around the same weight on the day of the fight.

"Fighting at welterweight is not a problem because both of them would be at the same weight on the same day of the fight," Beristain said.

Manny Pacquiao's next two opponents are not very popular items with World Boxing Council (WBC) President Jose Sulaiman. Don Jose is not enthusiastic about Pacquiao fight with Shane Mosley, which takes place on May 7 at the MGM Grand, or the Filipino's potential fall trilogy battle with Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez.

We still dont know how effective JMM is at that weight because the only example we have is vs Mayweather, the best defensive/counterpunching fighter in boxing. Thats really an unfair example to use for an assessment of JMM at that weight because of the opponent.
imho before that fight it was safer to assume that JMM could not carry the weight as well PAC, as the law of averages suggests and I agree with you on the unfair assessment as he fought a guy who is bigger and faster and having a similar counterpunching style...

that night JMM was forced to be the offensive aggressor...

Are you discrediting Mayweathers defensive masterpiece?

Mayweather made JMM look like a scrub and trust me it wasnt the extra 7lbs.

i agree that JMM was outclassed and probably would of lost to Mayweather at anyweight..

but Mayweather ..having at least 15lbs on JMM on fight night did have an affect specially since JMM struggled to even make 142 lbs to fight the bigger faster younger Mayweather

so who will get more credit for beating JMM? Pac or Mayweather?

If Pac beats Marquez by decision or KO all it will prove is that it took Pacquiao 3 fights in 7 years vs Marquez to convincingly defeat JMM.

It took Mayweather 36 minutes, coming off a 2 year lay off to thoroughly defeat and convincingly dominate JMM.

                      This cant be disputed.
