the only reason Martinez is calling Manny out is because Pacquiao moved up into the Junior Middleweight world and won a title, Sergio's WBC title. he has every right to do so.

Pacquiao has been fighting garbage, sorry pac fans but that's a fact.

everybody knew Mosley was shot, what you didn't see him against Mayweather or Mora?

Margarito looked horrible once his cheating was exposed and Pac had to fight him at a catch weight for a title. what that's not stacking the deck a little?

    Clottey was totally fixed

Cotto hasn't been the same since Cheato wrecked his career with the loaded gloves.

Hatton was Mayweather's leftovers and just about near the end.

De la Hoya was finished and cashing out. weight drained and over the hill.

David Daiz was just to win a paper title at 135.

Pacquiao hasn't had an good fight since 2008. what Pacquiao did to Morales, Barrera and Marquez was HOF stuff, but since then it's just been a cash grab. So what is Martinez pointed out the truth. not like Arum will ever let any of his fighters near Martinez anyways
Like a few of the Pac-haters that exist in this forum with multiple user names... You're an Id!ot! Marquez is the one who called out Pac and said that he will fight him at any weight?!

You can put an excuse to every opponents that Pac has fought in the past but the majority of the "Boxing Experts and the Public" knows that Pac is the "Best Fighter" of his generation. The only way for Martinez to supplant him as the P4P #1 Boxer is if he fight bigger guys like Hopkins, Ward, Bute and win convincingly?!

This is a flawed article. Its harder for an older fighter to move down in weight then up so once martinez moves up he will likely be closing the door on a Mayweather bout. He should hold out for now until Floyd makes his next splash because those bigger guys will always be there. The window for a Floyd fight at 54 won't be. Simple logic. Martinez is no spring chicken to be going up and down in weight so its logical to exhaust the possibilities of fighting a superstar at a smaller weight before he moves up. He still has Pirog out there at middleweight and a possible JCJr showdown before talking supermiddleweight anyways. Bhop plans to be around for awhile. Bute, Kessler, Froch, will be there when the time makes sense.

dlh, margs, and mosley were shot to ****, and clottey covered up. cotto and hatton were the only real competition he had, and they were basically the same size as him. weight and height don't make a goddamn difference if your opponents suck or don't end up fighting. fighting past prime big names isn't the "hardway". he came in at WW on fight nights against marquez and morales and diaz. in reality, he wasn't a midget or little guy against most of his WW opponents, just idiots like you bought into that ****, he had power and speed over them...skills>size. beating the number one p4p fighter will put him on top of the rankings you idiot, that's what martinez is trying to achieve...

those are just opinions just like what you think martinez needs to do to achieve the p4p #1 spot. you think if martinez fought ward and bhops with catchweights and won, he would get criticized for doing that? that's why manny gets criticized. guy decides to fight for a jmw title he can't even make weight for just to have some scam record in boxing history, and against a rusty fighter with a catchweight. then the former beltholder decides to call him out at that weight, and people get mad!?! haha, manny should've never fought for a belt he couldn't defend (let alone make weight for)

              " expert " ?

Do you mean..... a pac fanboy who read a press release full of Bob Arum's bull****, whilst he was listening to Manny's latest CD?

Coz..... bull****, every knowledgable boxing fan and most members of the media were saying that Shane was shot and they were calling that fight a joke.

Get a black marker, go to the mirror, and write backwards on your forehead..... "I am not an expert"

Great fighters bites deep separated them from fighters who barks at a wrong place...

This is a an honest to goodness article by Michael Marley that showed how senseless some boxers thinks like Martinez that affects the respective fighter's fanatic followers when being questioned of how reality bites...Martinez thinks he will be P4P best when fighting Manny & Floyd w/ a victory....Michael Marley is right, why don't he call somebody his size like Hopkins...Martinez must travel north his weight & prove his worth to make a statement as what he thinks for himself as a P4P best and that is the path many of the P4P best and boxing greats blue print...Like Jones (champion from MW - HW) beating a Heavyweight champion Ruiz, Pacquiao(FlyW - LMW), Sugar Ray Leonard(WW - LHW), Duran(LW - SMW), Hearns, Dela Hoya, Hopkins, Armstrong, Robinson, etc...Most of them journeyed to greatness against all odds, that's why they were called greats that separated them from those who likes barking at a wrong place...

pacquiao gave his wbc jmw title up weeks after the marg fight thus hes no longer a champ on that weight class. pac has nothing to defend on jmw. for me fighting a much larger oppponent is not an advantage, its your opponents advantage. to be fair, pac has been fighting larger opponents, how is that an advantage for him?

                      Hilarious.
                      Go figure

                      Get this man.....

                      * Martinez is really just a large JMW, and even though he already went up and cleaned out the top two middleweights, Sergio is a coward because he will not jump another TWO DIVISIONS to fight Hopkins

                      * Marquez is really just a small lightweight, but even though he WILL jump two divisions to welter, he is a coward anyway

                      * Manny, he will not fight anyone dangerous in his own division without a catchweight, and at JMW, he wont fight anyone at all..... and yet, he is a fearless champion and P4P king

                      WTF?
