    Hopkins on the radio today

Not sure how many of you guys here listen to FoxSports Radio, but B-Hop was on the radio twice today, first with Jim Rome (which I missed), and again with "the loose cannons", which I caught.

Hopkins said he has 2 fights left, that's it. He wants to value his contract with HBO, and he's going to fight Dawson first, then Bute, and then step out of the sport for good. "I don't want to embarass myself. Hopkins said.

He also made mention of stepping out of the sport in a similar fashion to what Ray Robinson did, by coming out to the ring infront of a packed house, and bowing to the crowd in all 4 directions.

Did anybody catch him on Rome? And if so, could you break down what he said.

    Thanks.

Nah man i missed that ,Bernard needs to make his mind up after the fight he said he would continue until he is 50.also no one wants to see him and Dawson if anything he should fight Bute then move up to Cruiser and get a strap there.

I read the ESPN/Hopkins chat today and he stated that when he said that he meant he wanted to fight till he was 50, he feels he could fight till he's 50, but he's not going to.

I think two fights is more than plenty. He's right, he shouldn't risk embarrassing himself. He's been pushing his luck as it is and Dawson & Bute at age 46/47 is pretty crazy if you think about it.

I caught a bit of the Rome interview actually. They shot the **** as usual but they did go in depth about Bernard suing Jean. Jim flat out asked Bernard if he felt what Jean did tarnished his legacy and Bernard just paused and gave a flat out yes. He seemed very upset about what Jean did.

On the Rome show Hopkins clearly stated his goals are to knock Dawson out and then beat Bute. I think it's safe to say any more than 2 fights is wishful thinking.

I don't ge it. Everybody has been saying fo years Hopkins is ducking Dawson, now he's going to fight him, and he shouldn't?

I agree with natas, Dawson and Bute at 46, possibly 47, is pretty damn insane. 2 fights is enough, I don't want to see him hurt, or end up like Jones, getting murked in every fight he has and not knowing it's time to hang 'em up.

Check - thanks for sharing what went down on the Rome interview. Much love, my man. I'm going to hit you up with green, if it'll let me.

I never thought he was ducking Dawson to tell the truth i have always looked at Dawson as a poor mans Jermaine Taylor,i would rather see him step up to Cruiser win a title there and cement his place in the p4p top ten.
