Actually, that does sound a lot like Manny.
Well I don't really expect anyone to move up in weight, especially guys who are already well above where they started out and were best.

I wouldn't mind seeing either fight. I do think he'd beat both considering how much bigger he is but eh, if you're gonna call out a smaller guy then expect them to come to YOUR division and fight you! It's kinda ridiculous. If he REEEEEAAAAALLY wants to fight Pac and Mayweather, then meet em at a catchweight if you can. But like a lot of people here are saying, it would look better if he met a top tier super mw at a catchweight or moved up.

I have said it before and will say it again,if you call someone out then its up to you to meet their requirements. If Martinez wants to fight a welterweight boxer then get down to 147lbs or stop calling them out. If you think boxers should come up in weight to meet you then set them an example and do it yourself. Sergio you should go up to super middle and fight Froch or Ward to show these smaller boxers how its done, only problem is you know you would most probably lose. Double standards.
this. pac beat marg and thats enough imo. he proved he can compete but he really should stay at 140-147. guys from higher categories should move down or shut up.

But I thought Manny was draining himself at those lower weights? That's why he always came in as a WW on fight night...

""Paul Williams is 6 ft 1 in tall and Andre Ward is 6 ft tall... so why Sergio dont want to fight Andre Ward? see the hypocrisy? hahahaha"""". That is right!! And Mosley at 154 and Oscar at 160 showed what happens, they lost. Sergio has the balls to fight the smaller pac but not the 168 guys.

sergio never says that he would not fight andre ward.
here is an article where sergio says he will not move up right now becuse he feels like his frame is to small for the weight but that his body needs to grow into the weight and that he would probably fight at 168 in the future.
BoxingScene.com spoke to southpaw WBC "emeritus" middleweight champion Sergio Martinez for this Q&A one day after Saturday's eighth-round knockout of southpaw WBO junior middleweight belt holder, Sergiy Dzinziruk.

N one should ever get criticized for not wanting to fight a guy out of their own weight class.
Martinez should not get criticized for not wanting to fight Ward, just like Pac shouldnt get criticized for not wanting 2 fight Martinez.
Its funny that people say Pac should fight Martinez just bc he fought Maragrito. The point is that Pac's team realized after that fight that anything over 147 is too big for Pac. He could beat Margarito on speed and skill, but just because he had 1 fight over 147 doesnt mean he should fight all the best 154-160 lb fighters. That's ridiculous.
As it is Pac is a natural 135-140 lb fighter who just happens to prefer to not cut weight (as well as moving up to get big $ fights vs. de la hoya and Cotto). To criticize him for not wanting to fight the middleweight champ at 154 lbs is just out of line.
criticize him for figting Mosely - that he deserves - but not for choosing to fight in his own weight class - 147lbs

Now Marquez is not a live opponent?
Also, I never heard that he was draining himself. In fact, he could probably make 135 pretty easily considering he fights at 144-145 while trying to keep lbs on, not take lbs off.
Did some ridiculous Pac fan make that excuse for his close fights wit Marquez - maybe - but it's not something that has ever been legitimized. He never claimed that he was drained - did he?
