Jean Pascal deserves respect, he didn't discredit hopkins

Notice how Pascal has dropped the whole "steroid" thing, even after being beaten twice.

He shook Hopkins hand, thanked the fans and supporters, and was able to concede defeat and give props while STILL having confidence in his ability to beat Hopkins, evinced by him wanting a third fight.

I applaud Pascal and he comes across as a true gentleman. Haha although I have heard from some people in Montreal that he would walk around downtown with his WBC belt around his waist. haha just like going out to lunch and ****, and even in clubs. lol.

and NO, I do not think that hopkins uses PED's. im just saying it would have been all too easy for pascal to throw that excuse out there. press the issue behind his back and through internet media like mayweather does.

Haha, that montreal story makes me laugh cus I can easily see him doing that.

I like Pascal. You can tell he wears his heart on his sleeve.

With his style he'll be back on top. I'd still go with Pascal over anybody else at 175, not named Hopkins.

Pascal fought a great fight against someone who is technically more competent. The likes of Hopkins are scholars and very technical. This is reflected by his record that he has only lost once to Roy Jones and cheated a few times by the likes of Calzaghe.

So you're saying Pascal didn't pull a "Hopkins"?

What a true credit to Pascal for showing...sportsmanship?

It's a shame old man popkins didn't have a heart attack in there....Yay he won! Yay he's the oldest champion ever! Who gives a fat fck other than George Foreman? I'm sure he's done caring by now..

Pascal wants a rematch, so he has to play nice.

But if anything its bhop that deserves respect. He did nothing but credit pascal and no longer disparaged him any further, and even said those 2 slips, were slips. He couldve easily said they were KDs (at least 1 of them definitely was)

1- Pascal doesn't have to play nice to get a rematch. Hopkins didn't play nice after the 1st fight and still got his rematch. Plus Pascal knows Hopkins now has t fight Dawson.
2- It's easy to be nice after you won. It's alot harder after a loss, especially when it was a rather close fight and you gave everything you had. People underestimate how easy it is to sound like a sore looser in the post fight interviews, when your emotions are at the highest level.
3- I agree that it was nice of Hopkins (and I was surprised by it) to say they were slips. But contrary to you, I don't think one of them was a legit KD. Yes there was a punch, but it wasn't the punch that caused Pascal to put his glove down. Not that it matters now...

Hopkins already openly ducked Dawson after the Pascal victory(Richard Schafer did it for him in so many words).

You people really aren't that bright are you? Anybody here remember when Dawson was champ at 175? Anybody remember hearing Hopkins calling Dawson out? That's because it never happened. Because he knows he will lose and more than likely lose badly.

you are right Hopkins deserves his respect too, which I have been granting and spreading over the past 24 hours. I just thought I'd make a thread for Pascal because he seems like a genuinely cool dude. He is good for boxing. no, great for boxing.
