Yeah I do understand that Diaconu has punching power and is a dangerous opponent. It's just that at least I expected more from a boxer who has great physical presence and good boxing skills. Some guys are saying "why are all of you criticizing Dawson and not Diaconu?" Well it's pretty simple, Dawson has the potential to be an incredible fighter, while Diaconu yeah is a good fighter but doesn't has the potential that Dawson has.

Great fighter, I will watch all of his fights and support him throughout, but he is doing a disservice to himself and his family by fighting so timidly and dully.
Youre wrong, same thing they said about Floyd years ago, but he's the highest paid fighter today, no use in being entertaining if you dont win. Chad has had some fine paydays already, been on tv for years, should be ok in that department. You must have misunderstood the point I was trying to make.

Once you understand what's going on in a fight it makes it more enjoyable regardless of any knockdowns, or KO's. Ask yourself why Diaconu waited to the last round or so to put up a somewhat of a feverish attempt at one point. Diaconu wasnt willing because of what he was receiving from Chad, the speed and reflexes were just too much. Its mental and Diaconu wasnt willing to walk through fire to try and get the victory basically. No different from Floyd against Shane, after youve been outsped and countered from punches you didnt see, you have a decision to make mentally whether youre willing to do whatever it takes to try to win and both Mosley and Diaconu basically said Im not willing. So basically Chad took Diaconu's heart away from him, but if you dont see boxing on those levels there will be many a fight that will seem boring to you.

And that's kind of my point, Diaconu really wasn't offering up much resistance, yet Chad was content to coast. Chad isn't endearing himself to fans with the way he fights, and comments by Schaefer and boxing fans prove that. If he wants to achieve superstar status, then he needs to fight like a superstar, and not just coast through fights. I don't expect him to concuss every single opponent, but I do expect more than what he's been dishing out. And I don't buy into the fact that it's because he's had so many different trainers, either. I think it's just the way he fights. Maybe Manny can bring it out in him, but I won't hold my breath.

This is just going over your head. Floyd is a mega draw because of his mouth, not the way he fights. I've personally barely heard Dawson talk. Trash talk? LOL!

I guess I'm not surprised by your comments considering you have Andre Ward--another boring boxer--in your avatar.

I really don't think that is a huge issue, in certain situations it can be an issue if he needs to really turn a fight around on a moments notice.

There are many ways to win fights even if you are not a killer, as long as you know you are not a killer and fight accordingly.

And happens to be undefeated. When you lose your paycheck isnt the same as it was the previous fight, you think fighters dont know that? When I saw Hop going all out in the 12th round I said to myself if he keeps it up Hopkins is gonna get caught and get stopped, he got caught and was almost stopped, but Pascal didnt mount anything after that. Chad isnt THE most exciting fighter but the fight's enjoyable to me because he dominated, nobody's KO'ed Diaconu before, not saying Chad couldnt have done it, but ya know.

Manny had to "LIE" to Chad that he was losing. That really motivated him and made him change.

thats a good explanation, but what i saw was Chad getting hit back and still not pressing to make a point. remember, Chad said himself that he wanted to put some fear into both Pascal and Hopkins with what he was going to do tonight, and you know im sure no one is shaking in their boots. he's a talented boxer for sure, but what happens when someone better than Diaconu is testing him for all twelve.
