  • Bernard Hopkins Appreciation Thread

Tonight I witnessed and feeled something, that I didnt feel since Lewis-Vitaly fight. I was so pumped into this 1, I believed in Hopkins, stayed all night to watch this fight and doubt im going to bed anytime soon)

The guy releases from prison, loses his 1st pro fight and his next fight comes only in 2 years. After all of this he shies like 1 of the best prospects. Today he is 46 and he sure looked good against Pascal and won that title.

I bow to this guy, for me he is an idol. Perfect example to any sportsman out there. He is smart, he's got great defense, he knows how to play mind games.

And please, no need to spend your time bashing his style and the way he fights..tonight he proved everything! He was and still 1 of my favourites fighters. I bow down again, huge respect to you and congratulations Bernard!

    he's a legend.

there are a lot of haters here that bash him whenever they can but they don't have a clue what it means to have accomplished what he's accomplished in the sport.

The amount of dedication required to box since 1988 and on an elite level since 1993?? It boggles the mind.

Have always been a huge Hopkins fan since his middleweight reign, just love his intensity and passion. I also love the fact that he's the old underdog that always prevails and defies the odds, the man has so many accomplishments (and counting) it's out of this world.

I know this a bit off topic, but as I have been saying for years and arguing countless times.

        Hopkins >>>>>>>> Roy

        - tonight one solidified his place in boxing history and just became a champ for the record books and the other got KTFO for the *I don't even know how many*th times.

He's a special fighter....I just hope he doesn't stick around too long...

When Pascal caught him in that 3rd round, the thought entered my mind this could be it but Bernard like a vet didn't panic and kept fighting...

I hope whenever he does go out its on top...

Like I have been saying all week, Hopkins will dominate the majority of the fight and get the decision. We saw history tonight folks, Hopkins is an ATG!

and ppl wonder how he does it....

age 46, doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, makes money & isn't flashy. u hate hopkins, u hate yourself....perfect example of the american dream right here.

idiots say he's boring, don't like his fights, etc......hopkins shows you waht the sport is all about. hit and don't get....what his career has been built on, the reason he'll still be around beating ass close to his 50's. u dudes that like to see "wars" and "brawls" how long does your favorite fighter last in the sport? and by "last," i mean remaining a relevant threat, and not a stepping stone, or fighting to collect checks.

Hopkins is a late bloomer, his style also benefits to keep on fightin.

Jones is fightin guys that are much bigger than him, skipping divisions with a bad jojo-effect.

                    Couldn't agree more.

I feel so privileged to have seen this historical fight tonight. It's just unbelievable what this man has done.
