Hopkins was stunned/hurt twice during the fight, once in the 3rd round and once in the 12th. Those were clean, solid, blockbuster punches fired from Pascal that connected on Hopkins jaw/chin. In essence, that simply demonstrates the intestinal fortitude, shear durability and awesome chin of Bernard that he was able to absorb those punches, stay on his feet and recuperate fast enough to fire back.

He continues to add substance to an already legendary, HOF career.
        • Record Number of Middleweight Title Defences
        • Oldest Man To Win A World Title In Boxing History
        • Not to mention a solid resume of wins: Jones Jr, Trinidad, Johnson, De La Hoya, Tarver, Wright, Pavlik, Joppy, Jackson, Brown, Holmes, Eastman, Mercado, Allen, Echols, Vanderpool.
        • His 5 losses, bar the Roy Jones defeat in the 90's, were razor-tight close decisions.

Simply, one of the smartest fighters in the Ring, ever. Hopkins is a bona-fide living legend.

How is an over-the-hill fighter who has never been known as a knockout puncher still able to compete against some of the best talent in the world today?

The answer is simple. Nobody in today’s fight game, including Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, can match Hopkins' mental skills. He has been boxing professionally for over 20 years and during that time he has mastered his craft in the ring.

When he steps through the ropes, B-Hop rarely makes a mistake. He knows exactly what his weaknesses are and he does an exceptional job of disguising them. Likewise he knows his strengths and he has a knack for tricking his opponent into thinking otherwise.

If I had to guess, I would say we will never see another fighter like Bernard Hopkins
