Jean Pascal has lost every single fight where he stepped up in competition.

The hate on Pascal here is laughable, he beat Dawson, gave Froch and Hopkins tough fights. He isn't top of the food chain but he is a top 3-5 in his division.

He's #2 in the division. The only one you can rank above him is Hopkins. Yet mofo's on here wants hate on the guy?

Is he a very skilled fighter? No, Is he flawed? Yes he is. Hence why Hopkins cherrypicked he's ass. But, does he deserve his high ranking in the division? Yes he does because he proved it where it matters. Which is in the ring.

Because like I just said, even though I give him credit for the Dawson victory, the way that fight ended was less than satisfying. His title reign that consisted of a gift majority draw vs. a 45 year old in his hometown, and then a well deserved decision loss against a that same fighter, now a year older, again in his backyard.

The guy has some power, he proved that vs. Dawson and Hopkins twice, but he fights in spurts and that's his downfall as he is clearly not interested in fixing that.

I thought Erdei was the lineal champ.

Because I like Dawson and Pascal proving himself not to be up to par with the very best, makes me nationalistic? What kind of logic is that....It's called stating the obvious.

              This right here.

It seems on these boards that anyone who isn't top 10 ATG is a bum..

American nationalists have risen from the long era of disrespect that Americans fighters have been receiving on BoxingScene. We are not as interested in promoting America as the supreme force in boxing (we know that place is already secure ), but more interested in defending America from the onslaught of unjustified hate thrown on our brightest athletes like Mayweather, Ward, Bradley, Ortiz, and Dawson.

But, he was the man of the division. He's first defense was F'ing Hopkins. To try and diminish that is insane.

To be fair.. how many LHW's today would beat 46 year old Bernard Hopkins..?

Hopkins relies on his craft.. and craft does not fade

Erdei was the lineal champ. But, he gave up the throne to go campaign at CW. True he's back campaigning at LHW. But, while he was campaigning at CW Dawson and Pascal fought the lineage title. Now that Erdei is back at LHW he would have to fight Hopkins for that crown. Which a Hopkins-Erdei fight will never happen either.
