He may well have been, but who what tells you a welter, who is actually a middleweight or will be when he makes his debut, did? Other than McDonnell, at a press conference, all he is doing is trying to build Chunkys confidence in all probability!

Whats wrong with Mcdonnell giving James confidence?? If they are lying then surely that gives Groves a sign that they aren't that confident but you realise how confident James is and how he is going to whoop Groves, and i like Groves but he is out of his depth i think in this one but good luck to him may the best man win

I wasn't saying there is anything wrong with it, just that it is probably a lie or a rumour he has heard/started. Which as you said means they are probably not as confident as they are making out. I have always liked Chunky, but the lead up to this fight has made him look repetitive, childish, boring and unfunny. Always liked Groves and I would like to see him win

I like Groves as well he is a nice lad, they definetly used to be friends look at them before they fought in the amateurs they were hugging each other and laughing even before the fight. It's probably got a bit bitter because Degale didn't want to be beaten by him because he was embarrased anyway it's come down to this and it is a huge night of boxing for the both of them. But my preference is with Degale but good luck to your boy Groves..... You going to the fight......

Anyone else finding McDonnell's approach a bit annoying?

It's a bit like the Cunningham-Alexander thing. I don't really like DeGale, but boxer's tend to talk crap to each other and run their mouths so ok. But when trainers start doing it, it usually makes them come across as ****s.
