Roy has one last great fight left in him, and this would in my eyes avenge both the johnson and the tarver fight.

He wasn't right after the Tarver fight and , we all know prime RJJ would KTFO of glen.

No, I think this is it for old roy.

And I hope to god he can pull it out. RJJ is hands down one of my favorite boxers, and like I hoped for tyson, I want to see him leave on a good note.
I agree, Jones should be done after this fight win or lose...but I have the feeling that if he wins his ego will keep him in the game for a bit longer..

I do feel that this will be his last fight. But what i think will happen and what i want to happen are two entirely different things. What i would like to see happen is for him to win against tarver for starters, then i would like to see him defeat Glen Johnson. Roy jones is two fights away from solidifying his legacy. A win over tarver is a must just for the simple fact the he lived for a roy jones fight. Not to mention that he is the man that single handidly toppled the legacy of jones, all glen did was shoot an already dying horse. If Jones can defeat antonio tarver, and do so in a convincing fashion, then in most minds he would be right back on top of the list that he so proudly stood at the top of for so many years. BUT, and a big one at that, BUT........If he can avenge the loss to Johnson as well, it would be very hard for someone to still deny him his place in history. You have got to think about it. There will always be people out there that will knock you, hell there are some people who feel Ali was just a hyped up fighter, whos career was made by his and george's fight. And thats fine. But those fighters will not be remembered by what a few think. They will be remembered by what the Majority thinks.
But if jones can defeat Johnson as well, then almost all doubt would be removed. Even the biggest roy jones critic would be left clueless as what their basis for not giving him his dues are
      .

I agree with you. The only thing for that is, I don't think a fight with glen is enough to really motivate jones to be who he was.

Redeeming against Tarver is what is driving him now, and maybe with a very solid win over Tarver, he will look to GLen.

I think all he wants to do is beat Tarver. After Saturday night I think he retires and goes back to HBO win, lose or draw.

If Roy wins I say we melt down all the ice and use the water as freshwater in New Orleans.

Then maybe we can use the land down in hell to raise food to feed the homeless.

if rjj wins a close, hard earned decision w/ tarver, i think he should hang up the gloves. however, if he totally outclasses tarver, id like to see him avenge glen then retire. NO MORE AFTER THAT

come sunday there will be threads naming every possible jones opponent.

lets see him crush tarver, embarrass johnson then beat up a
welsh super middleweight champ (well i can dream of calzaghe-jones)

can't fight Hopkins anytime soon, he has his own "legacy" to deal with in his class..

I guess it all depends how he looks on Oct. 1st...but where would u want him to be? considering he defeats Antonio...

well to me, I say IF he convincingly dominates Tarver this Saturday...I'd avenge my loss to Johnson and call it quits, that should definitely seal his legacy as an all time great...

                    what u think?
Fighters ( And World Class Fighters) don't come back from getting knocked the **** out. Roy didn't just get his lunch handed to him once, it was handed to him twice. B I A T C H !

Don't bet with your heart bro. This is reality, not fairy tale land....... Roy's gonna get his ass kicked again.

Yes! you're right. if he wins spectacularly over Tarver, i think he'll have enough momentum to take a win against Johnson and then he should retire. if it unfolded like that, then he'd go down as one of the greatest ever without a doubt. that would erase his losses, but if he losses against Tarver this time, especially in bad fashion. be it a UD or getting knocked out again, then his career and legacy is going to be tarnished forever, sad to say, but it's the truth. not dominate champ has been brutally ko'd twice back to back like he has, and that right there knocked him out of being a stand alone great......
