Did Marquez have a nutritionist for the Mayweather fight?

I don't think he had one. He needs to get a world class nutritional team and properly pack on lean muscle. I mean Marquez is an extremely intelligent dude and knows the basic science behind nutrition and fitness, but he probably does not know the best techniques and workouts to add mass to the right muscles for the correct motions.

I remember when he was training at altitude, at the completion of his workout he would pound out those quail egg shakes freshly prepared. That was too much protein and calories for one meal, though.

no, he didn't have a nutritionist or conditioning coach... he just ate more tacos.

I still think people downplay that fight. I still think JMM looked way better then people think. He just fought the guy who is the worst matchup in boxing for him at a bigger weight but that doesnt mean he didnt look good. I still think that JMM couldve competed with alot of other WW's in that fight. His timing was good, he had nice pop, his speed was solid, and so on

Marquez doesn’t belong anywhere above 135, the added muscle/weight would only be a detriment to him.

Perhaps we saw two completely different fights then

JMM looked sluggish, lacking power, speed-less and generally outmatched

If he had fought a WW who had power, he wasn't going to get up. I still think that JMM vs Cotto should happen before JMM vs Pac 3. That ESPN deportes spot was kind of intriguing

I hope he doesn't try to pack on the muscle for the Pacquaio bout. He's looked fantastic and sharp at 135 even though it's not he's optimal weight. He shouldn't worry about what the scale says nor what Manny weighs and just came in at whatever he feels best at.
