You know how fans are. When a fighter has had a mediocre night, and they'll say he'll get crushed by a top opponent. When a fighter wins a big fight against a top opponent, everyone will be back hugging his balls like crazy.
This is boxing, a fighter is only as good as his last fight.(Well at least for "fake" fans & bandwagon b*tches).
I swear to GOD boxing forums were invented for three things...
Hardcore fans
Casual fans
and people who've been told to "shut the **** up" more than a few times
I am one of those who think that at 147, his chin will hold up better. Cotto is a Welter already who is draining himself to make 140. This affects his performance just like it affected Trinidad at 147.
You may have a point! look at pacman his chin seems to have gotten stronger he took some super hard shots from jmm and erik morales his knock outs came at lower weight classes. I still feel though Cotto's chin may be suspect we will have to see when he fights gatti or kostya tszyu or someone with major power.

There is something else I want to say. In the Corley fight, it looked like he was hurt by one punch, but if you rewatch the fight, you will notice that in the previous round Cotto was getting caught by Corley's counter rights very often. Cotto was very confident and wanted to walk through Corley's shots and kept getting hit a lot. I think that Cotto was more or less hurt after taking many rights and then came the big one.

But there is one thing I hope you will agree with me on.....That fight was stopped prematurely. Hometown referee. I believe corley would have been the first to upset cotto.
I do not know if cotto has no chin but I also noticed during the torres and corley fights the shots that rocked and wobbled him never landed on his chin but on the side of his head near his ear and on his tempo.

The stoppage was a bad one, but Cotto was already assuming control of the tempo of the fight. The thing about the top of the head is totally true.
cotto is the smaller version of Clifford black rhino Eitiene
No way. Cotto has the perfect blend of skill, power, and decent defense when he remembers. If you are referring to the top of the head thing, we will have to wait and see how he handles his next few opponents.
If Cotto goes down to 130, he will be torn to shreds. He will lose his power and he will burn out faster than he can blink. At 140, I'd give both fighter the benefit of the doubt.

If you're observing well, then you'll realize Cotto goes by his instincts. A fighter who goes by his instincts like Cotto, once he gets tagged, will brawl rather then box. He has shown it in previous fights.
He's slow and predictable.
I'm just weighing things out mexican. What about you?
