Maybe I missed it but where exactly in the article did it say that the Williams camp requested or forced the catch-weight?

Why is Paul "I Got KTFO'' Williams using a catchweight for???
Why are you not ****ting on him the way, you **** on Pac??
Why is only cool for a black fighter to have a catchweight???

Williams has been inactive since last November's brutal two rounds knockout loss to Sergio Martinez. The fight is going to take place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

FWIW, catch-weight bouts were originally conceived to enable a matchup between two name opponents - who were usually NOT current top fighters, but likely older faded champions - who would probably never meet up because of weight disparity.
And genius, those fights were called an EXHIBITION match..... you know, like most of Pac's recent fights.
And when first conceived, a catch-weight DID NOT involve a title fight.

It happens many times a year and everytime a fight is announnced at a CW, you all cry like its the first time in history
There are only two reasons to demand a catch-weight.....
* you are not good enough to compete at your opponents natural weight
* you are trying to drain him to gain an unfair advantage
Either reason would deem the fight nothing more than an exhibition match imho..... which is fine, but it is hard to take Williams too seriously now, especially after his "anyone, anywhere, anytime" slogan.
Williams is a jack-of-all-trades, but master of none..... and this proves it.

He's fun to watch. If I were coaching, I wouldn't teach someone to box like him, but there's not a single fight for him from 147 to 160 that I would not want to watch. You all are crazy.
I love watching PW in the ring. His lost to Martinez should be a wake call for him and his team. I hope he recovers from his lost to SM and become a better fighter.

Pac fans must just stop...the difference is Pac fights for a title at catchweight and claims to have made history....
This will be a non-title fight.

PWill ain't got the strength or physicality at MW he will b tough at WW and JMW but not MW too much weight and at MW he can't handle the power but he should pick a weight class for him self.. I honestly don't care about the CW as long as the two fighter's r OK with it CW has being there long before any of us were even born Idk why now it's a problem all of a sudden??? Maybe dumb idiots trying to hate on WAPAKMAN HAHAHA well should b a good fight cuz both r almost the same size..
