    there are better top pfp past fighters to compare him to. those two are dynamic, ward most certainly not. even bhop was dynamic at a similar point in his career, but bhop would be a much closer type fighter to compare him to.

    all the fighters mentioned at least had pop, which ward doesn't seem to have.

    he won't be pfp #1. gamboa maybe...donaire.....

      Gotta remember Walt Hops and Floyd held down the P4P Number 1 spot with not much power either. Just outclassing people. And Winky was as high as Number 2 for a few years with straight boxing skills.

      But to answer the question Ward isnt on the level of a Prime Floyd or Roy yet. Although if he beats Froch/Johnson then Bute and then goes to 175 and starts taking names then he will be.

          He's going to have a better resume than both of them, as far as fighting the best goes.

          But he's not going to accomplish what Mayweather and Jones have accomplished.

          Mayweather: 6x Champion, WBC Champion in 5 weight classes.

          Roy Jones: Champion in 4 weight classes, fought up to Heavyweight.

          Ward can be great in his own way. He doesn't need to copy some one else's legacy to be great.

          Was Ali ever a champion in 8 weight classes? No, Oh so he didn't get to accomplish what Manny Pacquiao did. So that means Pac is greater. No, not even close.

          In the future, Ward can have people comparing fighters, using him as the measuring stick, just like you're using Floyd and Roy as measuring a stick for how good Ward is. The fact is, there will always only be one Roy, one Mayweather, one Ali, one Hopkins, one SRL, one SRR, one Whitaker etc. There are no duplicates. Andre Ward will be what Andre Ward will be. He can be great in his own way. He's only 27, with 24 pro fights, and you're already comparing him with guys that already did everything they were gonna do for the sport of boxing.

            Na man, you're crazy. Floyd became P4P number 1 by knocking every body out. His 5 KOs above 130 is what got him to the #1 spot. It wasn't his skills or anything like that. Floyd is known for his power. You need power to be P4P #1.

            Look at Hopkins staying at top 5 P4P while knocking guys out cold. His last KO was against DLH at 160, that's what basically got him up to be top 5 P4P and even remain there for so long. KO's mean everything in life.

            KO's=Life.

              its not fair to Ward to ask this now. Give him 5 more years at this level. He still may not touch them but I wouldnt shut the door on it
