If Williams was white, you can be sure he wouldn't be back on HBO right after a KO loss, without first winning a couple of non-televised fights against contenders. Especially not as the featured boxer in the main event!

No, like I said: I am not defending this fight at all.

An issue with Klitschko fights is the time difference due to them fighting in Europe. HBO doesn't like to show Live fights in the afternoon, and then tape-delay them later. It's not as simple as you make it out to be.

Yet HBO refused to show Chagaev-Klitschko.

As they should have. That fight blew. I care more about Williams-Ishida than I did Klitschko-Solis which you probably would have argued HBO should have picked up.

Is it because fans "like to see" him or is it REALLY because he's black? Most Americans have never seen Haye.

He gets attention, he speaks english. People care about this fight. I don't really (I like the Adamek fight more) but I'm not most people.

hbo is an american channel with an american audience. they didn't show klitschko/chagaev because they had gotten terrible ratings with klitschko in his past fights not to mention the tape delay was a burden. unless they are fighting known opponents like haye, arreola, or adamek they won't waste their time and money for lousy ratings.

hbo shows paul williams fights because the american audience knows him and wants to see him as the ratings show. just like they show marquez, martinez and other non americans that the american audience is interested in.

hey tunney why does the german ARD broadcasting company show all of abraham's and sylvestor's fights but they don't show any paul williams or tim bradley fights? they only show german fighters or fights that take place in germany omg they must be racist! wait could it be that their audience knows these guys and wants to see them fight more than a lot of other guys and they only have a certain budget so they spend it on fights that they know will do good ratings? no that couldn't be it. it's racism!
