Why do I have the feeling that this is setting up a Pac vs Cintron fight should Cintron beat Clottey?

Joshua "I always do just enough to lose" Clottey is now claiming he will fight only if the money is right?
Reallly?
Well lets hope the money is not right, and he doesn't fight. I would rather see Cintron against Williams in a rematch.Comment

I totally forgot about Clottey. I was wondering who Cintron would fight. Should be... interesting.Comment

I don't buy it as he couldn't finish a one legged foreman. As for Floyd fighting Cotto, Floyd wanted the fight Arum didnt and people seem to get really really really really really confused about it. Like I said Cotto is a glorified Gatti who still hasn't recovered from his first lost. I still favor Cotto over Margarito since he lost his power/plaster.People also seem to forget Cotto fight for 9 rds with 1 eye and couldn't see any right hands coming. Arum didn't do the fight at 140 with Floyd because Cotto wasn't ready and the money wasn't just right yet. After He beat Shane and Floyd beat Hatton, timing was perfect for that fight. Didn't happen though cuz of the beef with Arum and Floyd.Last edited by WESS; 05-14-2011, 05:06 PM.Comment

Clottey made two good paydays back to back, maybe even three if you count the Judah fight. No one wants to see him fight. He's at a crossroads. he better just take the short money and fight. He's never going to make those types of paydays again unless he beats somebody. I think Cintron beats him anyway...Comment

I don't neccessarily disagree with you, I was just trying to point out that Clottey WAS competetive before going up against Pacquiao. Just because he used the turtle shell defense all night in the Pac fight, doesn't mean he always had (to that extent) or always will - in the future. So, I wasn't trying to say that he was something special in his previous fights - only that he hadn't always fought (or not fought lol) like the he did in the Pac fight.People also seem to forget the beating Cotto got vs the cheater. Cotto has yet to be the same and it showed vs Clottey.
Then again I've always thought Cotto was a glorified Gatti. The one thing I've always wondered is how big of a star Cotto would have been if Arum would have allowed Cotto to fight Mayweather back when he was 140.
But I don't blame anyone for not wanting to see him fight again. I just wouldn't mind seeing what his next performance would be like, to see if he would be competitive again or not. Some fighters come back fighting harder than ever to prove it was a fluke, and some just never come back again.
Clottey ought to be grateful for an opportunity against anybody at this point, and take whatever $$$ to show if he has got anything left.Comment
