He is the forum glue sniffer. Nothing he says is of value. Just emotional bs rooted in teenage angst. He is the end result of a miserable 1/4 life. IT happens..

Still looks like a blown up, lanky light middleweight to me
The guy just doesn't look strong, his legs are tiny.

Im all for Chavez fans getting behind their man but let's not get delusional here. 1st of all Zbik is not a legitimate champion, that's Sergio's strap that Sulaiman gifted him without having to dethrone anyone. 2ndly, Zbik's rep in Europe is the same as Jr's here: An over hyped fighter with limited skills who has yet to fight 1 single proven fighter. 3rd, Roach tightend up Khan's technique but he was a blue chip prospect/Olympic Medalist (albeit with a questionable chin). Chavez is not a blue chip prospect nor is he accomplished at the amatuer level, his claim to fame is that his daddy was a bad Mo'Fo in his day. I hope Chavez wins, I like the kid alot and I am sure it must be hard being compared to an all time great all your life but let's not get crazy, Jr has shown nothing other knocking out 'cans and hating to work out.

He's in the gym now and he seems to be dedicating himself but you can't change a zebra's stripes. Wish all you want that he will live up to his name but my observation from that video clip is that he is still slowwwwww. He doesn't work at the rate a 20 something elite fighter should be working at. His shadow boxing technique is poor, he still doesn't move his head while hitting the pads, and he jumps rope like an elementary school girl.

Like I said, I hope he is suddenly the goods because I dont want to hear it when Cotto, Sergio, Dzinzurik, P-Will, Kirkland, or Canelo get up in his a$$.

                  I hope I am wrong.

Looking good hitting pads, mitts and bags doesn't make you a great fighter. His dad never even hit the speed bag because he said it was a waste.

Look, I hear what you are saying but I think you, like most people on this subject, are on extremes.

Nobody is saying Jr is a world beater or that he can beat Martinez. Not being able to beat Martinez doesn't make you a bum though, very few in the world of boxing can beat him.

While Zbik isn't a great champ either, you think Jr should just fight Martinez right away?...lol I'm glad your not his promoter or manager or the kid might never make a dollar in this business.

I think Jr is somewhere in between the greatness some think he might live up to and being called a bum every other post in this place. Jr is a decent fighter, he may not have blinding speed or be able to look "cool" hitting the mitts or bags but the kid has a fighting spirit and doesn't shy away from ****ing it out.

I think he can make a good career in boxing and can improve with Roach because he is finally taking the sport seriously. If he was 50% before, then he should be much improved and we haven't seen the best of him just yet. He's still young and has a lot of time to get better.

It is hard living under a legends name, just ask Paez Jr, Wilfredo Vasquez Jr, Sanchez Jr or any of the other sons of legends that didn't make it or are having a hard time.

Props to Chavez for seeking out Roach and finally taking this sport seriously.
