When did Margarito lose his prime?

I was wondering, was it after Mosley or before that even?? I mean, why would a guy who was known as a good ****er with a cast iron chin suddenly start using plaster wraps?! I think it was after losing to Williams that he started. But anyway, lets first go to the Cotto fight. He did stop Cotto but before that he was getting a boxing lesson and not looking particularly impressive for most of the fight. Cotto IS a great fighter, but he was never that much better than Cintron, who Margarito had koed in 6 rounds a few months ago.

And then the Mosley fight. He simply couldn't do anything against a much older man who had just looked pretty ordinary against Mayorga, except for the last round. Isnt this strange? And then, against Pacquiao he did look a bit sharper but still couldn't capitalise when he had the much smaller man hurt and was nowhere near stopping him. There were stories about an eye surgery just before the Mosley fight...it might've played a part, but I'm not so sure how big. I mean, as long as he can see, it shouldn't make no vital difference. This is a question indeed.

I think its possible he lost his edge either between Cotto and Mosley or after Mosley. Both make sense.

I'd say roughly about 1/2 hour before Mosley slaughtered him.Right around the time the riddle of his punching power was solved.

I felt he had lost something even before the Cotto fight.

I thought after the Cotto fight he would most likely have lost alot.

              The Mosley fight confirmed that.

Same night as the Cotto fight. That was the last of a decent Margarito you will ever see.

Exactly this.We don't know how many of his fights he had been doing this so it's hard to say. I mean Margarito was never ****.............really.
