Who here was impressed with Ricardo Torres?

He did take the fight on like 2-3 week notice and he did have a fight in August. I'm sure he was prepared because he just had a fight but I highly doubt he will get a rematch...EVER! After what he did to Cotto, they will never take that risk again. -
I agree...cotto boxes very well but when he decides to brawl he exposes the weak head he has...a good punch to the head always hurts him..remember the corley fight..he was hit on the right side of the head and he started to the lambada...anyways...this fight shows that he isn't ready for an elite fighter like mayweather, margarito, tszhu, etc...i believe his camp knows that ..that is why he was going to fight an italian nobody ...but one thing i will admit about cotto ..he has heart...and today heart won the fight for him..not his skills, power or strategy...pure heart.,,,,,Comment

Thing about Cotto is. He does get shaken up and staggered quite often it appears. But like alot of other good fighters he remains composed through it, and quickly recovers. And Torres is no pushover. Not a bad chance that guy will be Champion someday. Like I said he is a very deserving #1 contender.Comment

Not impressed at all. Taking a fight on short notice shouldn't have anything to do with being able to finish a guy off in the 2nd round. Torres had no clue how to close the show, not once but twice. You either know what to do when you have a guy in trouble or you don't. He don't.Comment

Your right, but lets face it hes obviously had worse training, then Cotto. I think Bob Arum or somebody sees this fight, and gives Torres a world class trainer.. who knows. Torres has talent.. No denying it..He has explosive hands.Comment

I agree, Cotto's had all the breaks, this guy almost stopped the Cotto train in it's tracks, give him some proper training and then we'll see...Originally posted by TonyWomackFanYour right, but lets face it hes obviously had worse training, then Cotto. UHHH.. This is gonna be a first time for me defending Cotto, but what the **** fight where you watching? Torres was ****ing beating in Cottos face when he had him hurt.Originally posted by 2NdRoUnDkOi think the cotto fight might've been fixed...Torres had Cotto dancing all around the ring in all kinds of hurt from his right hand, but Torres came after him with the speed and ferocity of a sloth...Torres he did evrything he could to not finish Cotto...idk suttin about dat fight seemed fishy
****in Cotto was moving and ****ing parrying shots like a champ. Torres couldn't finish the job because A- Cotto has a roc solid chin. He got bombed a few times and still kept moving and stayed aware. B- Even though the guy was rocked he moved well, he kept doing it, he dogded and parryed Torres' shots too. Man Torres bombed Cotto a few times when he was still staggering around and Cotto still pulled it off.
Cotto has my vote.
And as an edit, if the guy was any good, he could manage his stamina better. **** that he wasn't trained ****, he could train for 2 months and Cotto still wins it.Comment
