Lemme get this straight about Erik Morales...

The guy was blown out to smithereens in his third fight with PAC kissing the canvass 3 times en rout to a TKO loss also in the 3rd round. Next attempted to be the first 4-div Mexican champ but lost clearly to the very limited David Diaz. Now moved 5 more pounds north and gave argually the best brawler in the jr. welterweights Marcos Maidana and gave him all he can handle, took his best shots and even almost KOing that young stallion. That Maidana who was wreaking havoc to everyone he has faced. WTF is that???

Maidana had a off night. By his attitude he just wanted a quick win, collect his paycheck, and leave. He wasn't taking it seriously.

He should of had the win over Diaz. Not sure what the judges were watching.

I remeber him giving David a black eye the size of a tennis ball.

I actually thought he could have got the descision over Diaz personally.

But as for Maidanna, I think it's clear he underestimated him and overlooked him.

Plus, Morales, although shot, is just different dimensions in terms of ability compared to Maidanna. Even at this stage.

          And it really showed.

Nah even Maidana said he never underestimated Erik. I think the weight is to Morales' advantage nowadays.

Maidana has power but lack refined boxing skillz.
Morales saw on TV and looked a few times and found weak area in Maidana's repertoire.

Morales chin has gotten better at 140. He needed to take some years off because he was in a insane amount of wars. Now that his body had time to recover and hes fighting at his true weight he can make noise. And he has the heart of a champion.
