Do Most Brits Want Haye To Win?

And my new British friends, what is the take on Frank Warren there?
Here at NSB, some detest Arum. And I have written that I am sure he is slime, like all or most boxing promoters. And few posters here--maybe too young?--talk about Don King. Arrested many times, but usually or always beats the rap. Accused of being a member of John Gotti's "team." And so many of his fighters sue him for not paying. Larry Homes has said so. Ali detailed that he was owed $1M for one fight, and King gave him $50K cash so as not to give it all to Ali's lawyers, and he settled for that. One boxer, I believe Qawi said that King sent a bunch of thugs to his hotel room to intimidate him, I just saw at WIki that Lewis had sued King for $385M.
But they never talk about King here?
I wondered if Frank Warren is "similar" to Don King over there??Comment

Make no mistake David Haye in the grand scheme of things is a very nice guy, he is a gentleman unless you are fighting him, and he has a problem keeping it in his pants, but which guy doesn't?
The PR stuff, is exactly that and at the moment he is one of the best around at selling a fight. People need to take his comments with a pinch of salt, and he does overstep the mark sometimes, but I wouldn't say he he is anything near the level of naz, or floyd mayweather, or mayorga. So as boxing fans we should enjoy the colourful build up, I personally look forward to going home after work and looking out for the latest headlines on sky sports news from both guys. David Haye is very good for boxing, and the guy can fight.
Lets see what happens, as a patriotic brit I hope haye triumphs and then fights vitali because that would be a very dangerous and more of an action packed fight, also haye-adamek would be great.Comment

I think most people here look at Warren as being a bit of a dodgy geezer, and he has had a lot of beefs with former fighters(Terry Marsh being the most notable). A lot of fighters make good money with him as well, and even if they dont like him too much, those at a lower level can get regular work with him.And my new British friends, what is the take on Frank Warren there?

Im pretty much the same as this. Ive followed Haye's career since the beginning so it would be nice to see him win the HW title. But I wont begrudge WladTo be honest, I do want Haye to win, and a lot of that is due to him being British. I'm not his biggest fan but he represents our country well and is a proud Brit. He deserves the support of his countrymen.
However, more than anything, I just want to see a great fight. I'm rooting for a Haye victory, but Klitschko is great champion, and if he victors I will give him his due credit.Comment

Warren has stepped up his game recently. He hasnt been afraid to put his star fighters in tough, 50-50 fights early in their careers. In the past, he would keep them protected for 30/40 fights. His undercards are getting better too.And my new British friends, what is the take on Frank Warren there?

BTW, do you Brits remember how Vitali tried to kick Lewis?
I forget which round, towards the end I think, they fell and Lewis reached over to help pull Vitali up which he did. But first we can see Vitali try to kick him while down with his right leg.
I belive some people noticed and talked about it.
I don't recal what Vitali said, ifa nything. I wonder if it is possible that he feared Lewis would assault him while he was down? Or just unsportsmanlike behavior. Which IMO we saw from Vitali after the fight was stopped. Instead of being glad not to lose his eyeball or worse, he went over to Lewis and gave him a light punch to the shoulder, which we've seen him do to Haye recently too. Wlad seems much more a gent.
Do you recall that attempted kick from Vitali when Lewis went to help him up?Last edited by physiker; 05-12-2011, 08:50 AM.Comment
