It was a lot of things according to Top Rank, but mainly Top Rank head honchos felt that CBS exposure is bigger and better.

I thought that was a fake article.. So it is true.. Greenburg really said that...So HBO don't care about making money... As far as I know Top Rank was the one that cut ties with HBO.

It means people are dense enough to think HBO would 'cut' their cash cow. Heads are going to roll because of Pacquiao and Cotto willingly going to Showtime. There's been talk of Ross Greenburg and other executives getting 'cut' soon.

Cotto did 250K buys against Mayorga
Pacquiao did 1 mil+ against Mosley

But you think HBO got rid of them in favor of the 50K buys Morales-Maidana did.

Too many simpletons in the world.

HBO made a good short term decision because the Pac Mosley fight ******. Remember HBO gopt a ton of **** for putting on blowouts like that the past few years. Since Manny is only fighting blowouts (and he isnt a GBP fighter) then I wouldn't expect HBO to bring him on.

“I know for a fact that Bob has been talking to (CBS President and CEO) Les Moonves about doing this sort of thing for years, literally years,” said fellow promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events. ”I remember having meetings with Bob four or five years ago about doing exactly what he’s doing now. This is not something that he came up with to deflect publicity, I’m sure of that. Now, if you want to speculate about whether he would have gone to Showtime and CBS with a bigger fight, that I can’t say. Maybe because Pacquiao-Mosley isn’t quite as big as some other fights, it may have been the perfect opportunity to experiment with this.”

Publicist Fred Sternburg (who also happens to handle Pacquiao’s P.R.) was singing to a similar tune to Duva.

“This is something Bob and (Top Rank President) Todd DuBoef have wanted to do for a very long time…I guess CBS seemed to be the most logical move because they owned Showtime, but I think if it was another network stepping up, say ESPN and ABC, or NBC and USA network, it still was going to happen because Bob and Todd believe in the value of broadening the audience with the exposure that terrestrial TV brings to all of this,” said Sternburg to RingTV.

I think if the PPV buys are correct, it's an indication that it worked; because this was a **** fight from DAY 1.

Because Kery Davis and Ross Greenburg only like black boxers.

                    they lost pacquiao-mosley to showtime.

showtime put up a better offer.

hbo tried to throw money at it to try to get the fight but showtime still won out.

make no mistake , hbo tried to get pacquiao-mosley. they just lost it to showtime.

The corporate world doesn't care about such things. What's important to them is revenues...lots of revenues to make investors happy and if it is necessary to make head roll on the top honchos, they will do it.

Business has no heart. Money is it's bloodline.
