The "journey man" Glenn Johnson coming out of nowhere to give Roy Jones a beating, to win against Tarver and to become undisputed lightheavyweight champ of the world is a feat that definitely should get him the fighter of the year tittle.

The only KO that comes to mind when reflecting on this piece of **** is the one he scored over his girlfriend in the fall of 2000. I hope he gets a beating like the one Mayweather gave him, then i hope he retires and goes to prison. ****ing woman beater!
What kind of punch did he KO her with?

Glen Johnson has worked the hardest and won three world title fights where he was an underdog. Give it to him, fighter of the year!

I must agree. He is not spectacular . . .But he worked hard . . . accomplished what needs to be accomplished . . . from a nobody to a CHAMP . . . the best candidate for fighter of the year.

yeah, that sounds about right to me too. Johnson's probably had the best year of his career, i think he's fighter of the yeear, as much for his hardworking humble attitude as much for his accomplishments, he made boxing look good this year, a classy humble champ

I would pick Deigo Corrales as the fighter of the year, but Johnson (and Barrera) deserve very serious consideration.
I'm happy for Glen Johnson, he's a guy who has been screwed over a lot is his carrer, but still he has stayed active and has always given it all he has in the ring.
I wouldn't pick Johnson as fighter of the year, but I will say he has had the biggest breakthrough in 2004. Just think, back in January who in their right mind would have thought that Glen Johnson would be considered a fighter of the year candidate?

No Question it has to be Glen Johnson for fighter of the year. I didn't think Glen would be able to pull this fight out between Tarver. He proved me and a lot of other people wrong. The way he outworked Tarver and was backing him up two things I didn't think he could do against Antonio. I hope there is a rematch but Glen Johnson has to be the fighter of the year this year.

Glen Johnson easily. Won the title away from home then causes a huge upset then wins up against the odds again.
