assuming switching networks did lead to more ppv sales, people who bought into it were all dissapionted im sure. mosley took the coward way out and if people paid $60 for a channel 2 hype,they will be less interested in the next fight. the hardcore boxing fan will always follow. but someone who is half way interested will lose all interest after the cash loss. you cant blame manny, he tried. mosley didnt hold up his end of the deal. mosley didnt even try the win.

actually i paid to see a good beating and i was not disappointed. manny broke mosley mentally after the third round it was really funny to see a physically bigger guy running away from a smaller man.

fight doesn't live up to its hype... but a "boring/garbage" boxing match draws 16,000 in attendance and upside of 1-mil in PPV... i feel its more of a help for boxing than a disgrace... if ever someone should be disgraced, its shane... you got to give it to arum on how these numbers came up...

it goes both ways.the number itself may be good for boxing but the majority of those people were upset with the fight so that could be bad for boxing in the sense that alot of those people won't pay again to watch a boxing ppv.manny was also in the ring and should also get critcized for the fight because if he is the fighter that he is made out to be he could of cut off the ring and gotten to mosley much more

How is promoters assembling mediocre cards, only letting those who pay a huge chunk of change to go to the fight or buy the PPV, and then benefiting off of it good for boxing?

Sure it's good for the individuals getting paid.

It's not good for the health of the sport at all. How did all the fans who paid a bunch of money benefit? How did the millions of kids in the US and Canada who did not watch any of this card and the other PPVs benefit the sport? How do all the casual fans who buy 1 PPV a year who watched that garbage and now hate the entire sport benefit boxing?

Atleast the Arce fight was worth it. But hey, I'd rather cash in on Pac rather than Floyd. And it's Pac. Who is like Pac? nobody, period!

You should ask that Q after every Floyd's fight. Pac fighting is just awesome no matter what the outcome. I'd rather see a true fighter, rather than a bunch of nobies.

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum advised the New York Times that last Saturday's fight between Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley, based on early projections, generated at least 1.2 million purchases on pay-per-view. Arum would not be surprised if the number exceeds into the realm of 1.4 or 1.5 million. The exact buyrate figure should be received by the end of the week, Arum told the paper. Pacquiao won a twelve round decision over Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
