    That's why they picked Mosley.

Mosley is a name people know.

Arum would not be surprised if the number exceeds into the realm of 1.4 or 1.5 million. The exact buyrate figure should be received by the end of the week, Arum told the paper. Pacquiao won a twelve round decision over Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

I've heard this talk from Arum before, that number will go down when the offical ppv sales are released.

There are quality streams lol (Tenchis).

But it's not as if there's going to be a revolution of fans simply streaming fights. It takes money to make money, and as long as there are promoters and Cab;e networks, there'll be PPV.

          • These are good numbers though. I expected much less.

It might help the financial side of boxing. But short term all it tells me is Boxing can still trick the fans by making money with poor match making. Mosley obviously cashed out by taking this fight, it's just a shame so many people bought into it.

uh why would Arum bother with national TV, if he can get this many dummies to buy a PPV? Pay Per View exists in the first place because (in the case of boxing) it generates more revenue

Hey I'm all for seeing boxing on national TV. But from the promotional side of things if I can get enough fans to buy fights via PPV, why not stick with your bread and butter?

              • i was expecting less. around 900K because of Shane's last 2 fights. and *****s boycott the PPV. 1.2 million buys was more than what Arum would ask for. Pac is officially a PPV king.

Maybe he should have fought Sharmbe Mitchell, or Carlos Baldomir. Those guys were killers.
