Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, spoke to BoxingScene.com about our recently published report where Juan Manuel Marquez announced that he was accepting Top Rank's revised offer to face Manny Pacquiao in a trilogy bout on November 12 in Las Vegas. The catch-weight of 144-pounds would be in place for Pacquiao-Marquez. Pursuant to their expired promotional agreement with Marquez, Golden Boy has the ability to match Top Rank's offer.

Canelo is a joke of a boxer. First, he came in way overweight against Hatton and secondly accepts a fight from a flawed sanctioning body in the WBC for a belt he did not deserve at all. He should have not accepted the fight in the first place - the integrity of a real boxer wouldn't accept it. He knows he doesn't deserve it. He might as well have cheated in the ring.

How can they guarantee Marquez 5 Million to fight any of their fighters? Canelo, Morales and Ortiz came up with the biggest HBO ratings out of all of the GB fighters and you can throw Khan in their too as their final big name but I'm pretty sure none of those matchups is big enough for JMM to get 5 mil out of it...anyone know how much he got in his last 2 fights?
